Default Too good to be true?

World-Famous Low Carb Bread - from Recipezaar
????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/breads-desserts/4322-too-good-true.html

I have tried this in the past, it's really quite good as a substitute for real bread. The nutrition count lists one slice as 124 cal; 6g fat; carb 7g, Fibre 2g and protein at 11g.

Can the experts/experienced beachers chime in please?

Yield = 12 slices (change servings and units)

Ingredients

* 4 teaspoons bread machine yeast
* 1/2 teaspoon sugar
* 1 1/4 cups water (90-100 F)
* 3 tablespoons olive oil
* 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 tablespoon Splenda sugar substitute
* 1 cup vital wheat gluten flour
* 1/4 cup oat flour
* 3/4 cup soy flour
* 1/4 cup flax seed
* 1/4 cup wheat bran (I used ground flax seed)

Directions

In the bread machine pan, put the water, oil, and sugar.
In a separate bowl, mix all the dry ingredients and the seeds if you are using them, with the exception of the yeast and baking powder.
Mix well.
Take out appoximately 1/4 cup.
Pour the rest of dry ingredients into the pan.
Mix the reserved 1/4 cup of dry ingredients with the yeast and baking powder.
Pour into the bread machine pan.
On our machine, we use the three hour bake cycle.
Let cool.
Place in a ziploc bag in the refrigerator.

I say try it and see how it works. I'm not that great of a breadmaker but love to get a bread machine one of these days. Let us know how it goes.

As I posted, I have tried this and it isn't bad at all. Just hoping that someone with knowledge and experience beyond my own would either confirm or correct the nutritional claims.
