| Ok I found a box of Mrs. Freshleys Snack Away Vanilla yogurt creme oatmeal cookies. Kinda a health take on the old Little debbie oatmeal creme pies. But they are only 110 calories a piece no transfat 23g carbohydrates, 2g Dietary Fiber, 1g sugar, and 2g protein. The ingredients have whole wheat flour and real milk for dairy and natural oats. Does this sound like a decent alternative to sugar free stuff. Or a for a snack every now and then that won't mess up Phase 2? | ||||||||||

| Here's their web site. http://www.mrsfreshleys.com/Products/products.html Unfortunately I was unable to get a full list of the ingredients. What are they sweetened with? Is there any high fructose corn syrup? That's a no-no. The SBD frowns on things sweetened with fruit juices and honey, too. I can tell you that the SBD doesn't have a very good view of people eating these sorts of things. It's preferred that we cook our own foods so that we know exactly what's in them. They also go just a little over your sweet treat allowance on calories. I hear they're really good though. I think I'd have trouble not eating too many of them. Snack cake goodiness is one of the reasons I'm overweight in the first place. ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/breads-desserts/678-oatmeal-creme-pies.html I need to renew my subscription at the SBD site later tonight. I'll ask the nutritionists there if you're still interested in trying them, but I suspect they'll try to dissuade you from doing it. :Hug1: | |||||||||||

| Frost you say it's made with whole wheat flour but my guess is that is not the only flour involved. So many products are posing as healthy by throwing in a little whole wheat flour. With the exception of real sourdough, whole wheat or whole grain pastry flour should be the only source of grains besides the oatmeal. The fact that it is less than 3 grams of dietary fiber is the key. Oatmeal and whole wheat are high in fiber and a single serving would have at least 3 grams if it was made with all healthy ingredients. Sorry to burst your bubble:Whip: Don't shoot the messenger!!:hide: | ||||||||||
