| ok what if I used ground turkey or sliced turkey or extra lean ground beef is there any acceptable marinades that I could try, so that I can make my stash of summer time jerky this year? | ||||||||||

| The problem is the sugars. So if you can make it with SBD-friendly ingredients, jerkey should be fine. I know hunters & fishers sometimes take their game to places that make jerkey. Maybe those places could give you ideas if you want. | ||||||||||

| Hello! I assume you have a food dehydrator to make your own jerky with? I did a search on Google and used the foods "sugar free jerky recipes" and got some hits. Go to this site and scroll down to the jerky recipes: http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/cat/600/0.shtml They look pretty good to try. The first one calls for a tablespoon of ketchup and I'd use the Heinz one carb version if I were you because it's sugar free. If you can't find that brand, Carb Options has a low carb ketchup that's sugar free. Or you can skip the ketchup all together. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. I've got a dehydrator and might like to try making some jerky, too. P.S. Skip over the other recipes at that site. They're low carb but not necessarily right for the SB way of eating. | |||||||||||

| Yes, I make my jerky without any sugars at all! And you can make Turkey Jerky..but aren't the lower fat cuts of meat allowed? I usually make mine from London Broil, I trim any visible fat anyway cause its disgusting when its made into jerky! | |||||||||||

| You can use leaner cuts of meat like flank steak, for instance. I didn't even know you could use ground meat for jerky. Can you? :Sad2: | |||||||||||
