| Can any of you give me some basic guidelines on HIIT? (Simple, if possible.) I read recently on the internet it's been found to be more effective than regular cardio at losing extra fat, so of course, I'm interested! I've been exercising pretty regularly for about 2 1/2 yrs, so I'm ready for a new challenge. | ||||||||||

| Hey Nancy, long time no talk, how are things with you? Still at your goal weight? I am still trying to get to mine but I can't seem to stop eating the sugar, ugggggggggggggg. Anyway, I love HIIT it's awesome, it will definately challenge your body and you do loose weight with it im sure it's water weight but it's awesome and you are done very quickly with it. Basic guidelines are warm up 5 minutes then sprint as fast as you can for 1 minute then walk about 4.5 mph for 1 minute do this for about 15 min and work your way up to doing no more than 25 min total. If you can do more than 25 minutes then you are running fast enough. You can also do it on the eliptical or stairclimber whatever you prefer. | ||||||||||

| Yay, Brownie With Nuts!! It's great to hear from you. I've been wondering how you're doing. I've been really busy & preoccupied with my mother & father and his illness. I am still maintaining my weight, give or take a pound or 2 (up). I still need to watch my anxious eating, especially with all the stress, but I haven't gone overboard, which is so important. I'm still keeping up some regular exercise. I have built more muscle mass, and am doing some more Pilates & yoga, so my body looks better. I am working on the HIIT, and it seems to help me get rid of some of the extra fat. (Or probably changing up what exercise I was doing changed my body shape too.) I still need to get more intense during those intervals. I'm glad to hear you're doing well!!! | ||||||||||
