| hi: kind of disappointed. started phase 1 at 259, ended at 247, but now have gained about 3 pounds in the first week of phase 2. anyway, am getting seriously into cycling. bought a carbon bike, and am going to ride the seattle to portland ride in july. have a lot of butt conditioning and training to do before then, and want so badly to get to 220. can it happen? i hope so. having a low night i guess. thanks for this great site. cole | ||||||||||

I'm not sure I can call myself a bicyclist, but I do enjoy going for rides. The most I've ever done at one time was like 40 miles. I wish I would have gotten into riding at an earlier age. Don't sweat the small gain when you first enter phase 2. You're eating more carbs and that causes you to hold onto more water. It should come back off if you continue following plan and watching your portion sizes. Tell me more about your riding. How long have you been doing it? How far is the ride from Seattle to Portland? What is a carbon bike? All I have is a Fuji mountain bike. Do you ride on trails or the roads? I ride trails that use to be railroad tracks and they've converted them into bike trails. Some of them are paved. Here's a pic of one ........... ![]() Do you own a pair of padded pants? That will help your butt a lot! And I use salve for chaffing. I just use baby diaper rash stuff, but there's something called Butt Butter that you might want to consider. It's just too expensive for me and the rash cream works fine for me no farther than I ride. Let me know how it's going. Nice to have you here. | |||||||||||
