Default The Exercise Room for 2/19 thru 2/25

Hello and welcome. This thread is for anyone who wants to join in and keep track of their exercise. It doesn't matter what your exercise level is or what your age. Everyone is welcome.

Last night, I dug out my old Jane Fonda step box and my old Susan Powter tape and exercised for 45 minutes! Yay for me! :joy:

I plan to exercise tonight, too, and so I'll check back in later all .....

Okay, I've been told that I'm dating myself with these old work out tapes. But I like them! And I think they're just as good as the day I bought them. I even have the two step box work outs with Cher. Besides, I've got 2 left feet and I don't think I could do some of the newer work outs anyway.

I did another Susan Powter step box workout. This time I turned down the sound and replaced it with some 70's rock music. So, I didn't have to listen to Susan. :jester: I kept my heart rate at around 140. I started out using two of the sections on the step box, but half way through I had to take one out. And I had to stop twice for a few seconds, and this was only one of her 30 minute work outs! I get such pain in my hips any more when I try to exercise. But, I'm hoping that things will get better as I progress and get use to exercising again.

Tomorrow I'm going to try to get to the park for a nice walk outside. If not, then I'll do the first tape of the "Slim In Six" series. I just got those off eBay recently and haven't done them yet.

Nitey nite!

Take it easy, Sarah. You push yourself too hard sometimes. :Sympathy:

I walked at the park today .....

7753 steps
6356 aerobic steps (54 min.)
397 calories
3.42 miles

Here's a couple of pictures I took at the park last year. This is the Oriental Garden with Koi in it.

This is the bridge that I take across the lake.

And this is just a little area where you can sit and read and look out at the lake.

This year I need to get some pictures of the rose garden when it's in full bloom. A lot of couples get married there.

It's a beautiful park and I love it!

I know what you mean, hon. Exercsie is addictive. I hope you're feeling better soon.

I got another walk in:

6991 steps
6865 aerobic steps (59 min.)
354 calories
3.08 miles

I started off pretty fast. That's one thing about it being cold, you tend to walk faster. But then that darn muscle that runs down the back of my right leg started tightening up on me and I had to slow way down. But I kept going and pushing myself.

I can't believe that is still bothering me. I injured that muscle way back last September and it's still givng me trouble. But I am NOT going to quit!!

Just a thought girl which Muscle is it. You may want to try doing some strength trining exercises to strengthen it back up. Sometimes we injure ourselves and our bodies shift so we are not walking or anything properly for the simple fact our muscles are not aligned properly from the injurey. By building the muscle back up it may aleviate some of the discomfort you are having.

Sounds like Sciatica or a pulled Hamstring to me.

If your hip is giving you pain it could be disk related. Have you tried taking glucosamine & chondroitin supplements? I take them for herniated disks and they take a month to work but I don't have hip pain much anymore since I've been taking them and I have more flexibility now.

If it's Glute pain then doing some Squats to start would help Lunges can be really bad if you don't do them correctly more ofen then not People do them Correctly. But if it is Like Mindy said a Sciatic Nerve or something then going to a chiroprator may help or a massage therapist to help the Nerve as well as Icing it to shrink it down.
