| Hi guys, I have been reading some posts and everyone seems very supportive so I decided to join! I have been trying to lose these 5 lbs (I know its not a lot but its like a battle with my body for these 5 lbs- it has been so frustrating) for the last year so Im hoping that south beach would be able to help. The first week of phase 1 felt great but I had a bad slipup last night. Here are my questions: Should I start phase 1 all over again, keep on going, or extend it a bit longer? Also is baking soda allowed in phase 1 (I saw a recipe online allowing baking soda for sb phase 1)? Thanks and good luck to everyone =)! | :Welcome: foodlover! You must be really good at maintaining your weight. Maybe you could teach us some techniques. I'd say to continue on Phase 1 for the rest of the 14 days & move on to Phase 2 unless you're having actual cravings. Baking soda is fine for all phases. | ||||||||||

| Thanks guys for the suggestions ! I will finish the rest of my phase 1...I really just try to get in a lot of exercise along with being active (makes a huge difference). Also I know that for me, I have such a hard time with emotional eating. So I have been trying to change my thinking around. It sounds cheesy but recently instead of "oh I had a bad day, I deserve this cookie or chocolate", I try to tell myself that I deserve to be fit and have a better body. Hope this helps =) | ||||||||||
