I find it depends on how "bad" of an eater you are before you start phase 1.
If your eating like a little piggy, of course your going to see super fast results from phase 1 because it's like night & day when you compare the two diets.
I know I have started phase 1 when I weighed 282 lbs...I have started it when I weighed 230 lbs & I have started it weighing 220 lbs...all three times, I lost at least 5 lbs. in the first week...but,

every one is different.
