I tried to post once before but I'm not sure if it made it.
I'm considering starting SB next week after I clean out my fridge of temptation. I'm afraid of the first 2 weeks. I'm a carb-o-holic and allergic to artificial sweetners like Splenda. SO I won't be able to have any sweets...ARGH! HELP if you have a suggestion.

I don't have any suggestions on the sweets, maybe someone else here with more experience can help.
I am just starting phase 2 today. Phase 1 was a rough one as I love my bread and pasta. I was pretty cranky the first week, but by the end of week 2 and seeing results, I am almost afraid to leave the phase 1.

It seems pretty quite on this board, but I have found some really helpful information and good ideas to keep me going.

BIGGEST RULE IN MY BOOK...Eat something every 3 hours...this is most important to keep your blood sugar level steady...this is the only time your body can actually burn fat which is already stored. A huge climb or drop in your blood sugar causes your body to store fat...both ways....if your blood sugar is low, your body is storing all fat you put into it because it's in starvation mode...if your BSL is too high, your body tries to store all that extra sugar in your fat for use later when your BSL Drops...nice huh?...these are the two phases we don't want our body to ever get in!!! Keep that BSL steady w/ something in your belly every three hours...that is rule #1 to me.

The biggest 'suggestion' I have for phase 1 and the sweetner issue....even if you eat all day, only eat phase 1 approved foods...don't give in and eat any carbs or sugar, if you do, just start over...don't give up or give in or quit....if you feel like your starving or still hungry, have another cheese stick, eat another handful of nuts, heck, fry up some cabbage...eat the whole head....do whatever you have to do to keep from giving in to the 'crappy' cravings from carbs & sugars...that's what this phase is all about...if you stick to the approved foods list (even if you eat twice as much as suggested), you will have accomplished the first and most important step of this diet...DETOX your body from startch & sugar...you won't crave it anymore...it's awesome!

EVEN IF YOU OVER STUFF YOURSELF WITH PHASE 1 FOODS FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK, YOU WILL STILL LOSE WEIGHT!!! Think how you were eating before....if you can accomplish this simple task, you will be doing yourself a HUGE favor....transitioning into phase 2 will be like heaven once you get through phase 1...you'll feel like your cheating when you eat fruit again for the first time.
