Default South beach in the UK.

I have found this forum on my internet travels and it looks like a great place to get support and advice so I thought I would pop in here and introduce myself first.

What brought you to south beach?

I read a bit about it when the first book came out and got the book. I had gained weight after having my first baby. (Yes after, I 'forgot' to stop eating the snacks that I had been having to fuel breast feeding when my 1st one stopped). After reading it I started it and managed to lose about 1 stone. 4 years and another baby later I am about the same as I was after that first time. BUT I also weigh about 1/2 stone more than I did after baby 2 was born and he is 18 months old and stopped breast feeding 5 months ago now so no excuse! I know it worked for me before and I am not really sure why I stopped so I am getting back on track and going for it.

How long have you been doing it?

This time round I haven't started yet. We have sat down and worked out menus for us from 21st July so next Monday will be my starting point. (My OH will be doing it to. Not sure why though in his case as he is normal weight and very fit and healthy. It was him that said he wanted to SB first and instead of complaining about how awkward it would make menu planning I decided to join him.

What do you like about the diet?

It is easy and it has proper food. I love to cook.

What is difficult about the diet?

Less (and no in P1) chocolate. I love chocolate. I also bake all the cakes and biscuits we have at home so doing those for the children and not eating them will take some getting used to.

Do you exercise?

I don't do anything more than walking at the moment.

How much weight do you have to lose?

I would like to lose at least 2 1/2 stone (35 pounds) but if I could push for 3 1/3 that would be good. At the moment I think I am about 13 stone 5 pounds which is way too much for my 5 feet 1 1/2 inches.

Other than the south beach stuff I am Mummy to my two children DD is 5 1/2yrs and DS is 18 months. We home educate so I am generally busy most of the time.

Michelle

Haha... well now that I have become a fit person, I eat this way to stay a fit person! P2 and P3 (which is really 95% P2) are just healthy eating plans. It maximizes nutrition for calories consumed and allows us to enjoy active healthy lifestyles for hopefully many years to come. It reduces risks of heart disease and type II diabetes and perhaps most importantly, it helps teach our children what proper nutrition is all about so they can stay fit and healthy for their lifetime as well.

So :Welcome: and good luck!
