| First off...WELCOME!....great to have you here and so eager to start! Here is a 'quick shopping list' for phase 1...it might help if your going to the store... · A lot of eggs · Turkey and Canadian bacon · Sugar free Jell-O · Lettuce & whatever else you want in your salads · Salad dressing (3 g. of sugar or less/serving) · Veggies (no carrots, no potatoes, no corn, no beets..you know the drill!) ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/introduction-forum-just-say-hello/2035-hello.html · Chicken breast, lean beef, fish, pork...whatever meat you like · Nuts · LF string & shredded cheeses (I love Feta too!) · Part-skim ricotta cheese · Splenda or other sugar substitute · V8/Tomato juice (V8 offers a “high fiber” brand now!) This is what I started with and if you always have at least a few of these things around, you'll always have something to eat...stock this stuff and you'll be set to go my friend! IMO...rule #1....eat EVERY 3 hours, even if your not hungry!...you have to in order to burn stored fat...simple as that. Again, welcome...glad to have you here and can't wait to read of your success!!! :Welcome: | |||||||||||

| And despite the negative internet warnings and fear mongering sites you may run across, sites based on real science so far have indicated that it is reasonably safe. Some people still do experience some negative reactions to it though. (headaches most commonly it seems.) Here's a site I like from a public watchdog type group, the center for science in the public interest, that reviews the current thinking on all current food additives, not just sweeteners, but you can look up the main sweeteners out there from the list (saccarhin, aspartame, acesulfame potassium, and sucralose/splenda for the most part. Also includes some of the more natural sweeteners like stevia, fructose and the various polyols (aka "sugar alcohols") such as malitol, sorbitol, xylitol, etc. Food Additives ~ CSPI’s Food Safety all things in moderation is a good general rule of thumb whichever way you go! | |||||||||||
