Wink Hello from Andrea

Hi everyone.
I just started SB two days ago. So far so good. My husband started last week and lost 9.2 pounds! We joke that he lost a dress size! One of my daughters started 2 weeks ago. She is also doing great.
This board has given me a lot of great information and ideas. I look forward to implementing them. It has also answered a lot of questions that were not clear to me from the book. Thanks!
Looking forward to some great success stories.
Andrea

glad you are here. It is so great that your family is doing this with you. Less chance of having foods in the house you shouldn't be eating. It is amazing how fast this lifestyle change works. You will be so happy with the changes especially the extra energy. Don't forget to find a activity that you like to do like walking, hiking, swimming, you name it you will have plenty of energy to try it.

Hi Andrea, it's nice to see another newbie here. I just started yesterday (REALLY a newbie) - or shall I say, re-started.

This is a very healthy way to eat, and best of all - it works!

I look forward to talking with you.

Not sure how old your daughter is, but Dr. A recommends that they start in P2 and get more dairy as well. Kids nutritional needs are different than adults. Also as "the husband" of a couple that did this together, be sure to feed him enough! Caloric needs depend in part simply on body size. So he can and should eat more than you if he weighs more than you. When I started with my wife, we tended to split what we cooked more or less evenly and I was always hungry and she was fine. Once I realized that I needed more and ate more (even if it was more than the meal template would suggest for protein for instance), I was a lot happier. Other than those thoughts, just keep moving forward. It's a great way to eat as a family and it was a good opportunity to teach sound nutritional concepts to our kids along the way as well. And the earlier you can switch them over to things like ww breads, ww pancakes, ww pasta and so forth, the more they will just get used to those things as being "normal" and the white stuff as being weird and flavorless!

Default Newbie here as well!

Hi Andrea,
Welcome to the SB forums. Everyone has been super helpful here and if you ever have any questions you will get plenty of answers. My husband mentioned to me last night about joining SB also. I think its really a nice thing when you can include your family in getting healthy. My 3 kids didnt even notice that I had snuck turkey burger into our meal last night. Look forward to chatting with you . Good luck in your weight loss journey

Nicole
