Default 28 days in!

:rolleyes I started SB on Jan 5th and lost 11-12 lbs on phase one. I really haven't lost anymore and luckily I haven't gained either. I have only added back two items to my foods, apples and oatmeal. I'm somewhat discouraged that after being very carefull not to have sugar or starch in my diet I haven't lost anymore. I did walk yesterday and plan on getting a routine started this week too. I do have hypothyroidism but I still thought I would have lost a pound or two more. I have found that I can live without the starchy carbs, it's the sugar that I really am grouchy over. My sweet treats are sf jello and sf pudding with lite coolwhip or berries with splendah and lf plain yogurt. My weigh in weight was 208 and my goal is to fit in a beautigul wedding dress May 16th without looking like the stay-puff marshmellow women. lol. I would love any comments, suggestions and help. Best of luck to all.

My best advice? Hang in there... Write down your foods and look at them on paper. Is it conducive to losing weight? If you are eating healthy foods and they are reasonable amounts, the weight will come off. (BTW, welcome!)

Siding with Jilly. Hang in there - the weight loss will start back up.

I came across an interesting article this morning that started off like this:

There is an old joke that goes something like this:

Question: What is Mozart doing in his grave right now?
Answer: De-composing.

The same question could be asked of the living right now who are working hard on their diets and seeming to go nowhere body weight-wise.

Question: What’s happening right now? Why am I not losing weight?
Answer: You’re Re-composing.

---------------------------------------
If my memory serves me correctly, fat is lighter than muscle, hence supporting the fact that while weight may not change, size may. It's not what we want to hear, as it seems that the scale is the end all be all indicator of weight "loss".

Look at it as weight change, not loss and you get a new perspective.

Default Thank you

Logic is never our first reasonable thought. I don't believe I am over eating or eating the wrong foods. I guess phase 1 left me very excited and I thought it would keep coming off a little more than it has. I will keep pushing forward. Thanks for the help.

I am in a similar situation. Started about a month ago. Had a couple set backs but overall would get right back in phase 1. Lost 6 right away, then that time of month threw me off scale wise. I tried to allow myself a glass of wine or two and well you know the rest of the story. I feel stalled out and a little bored. The temptation to go for a calorie laden lunch is looming but I will stay the course. Ugh!

"mopunkie". I feel your pain. I am wondering if the lf coolwhip that I'm having with my sf jello is too much, am I eating too much meat, are the sb pancakes made with oatmeal and cottage cheese not a good breakfast choie, I only have wine in Friday night, maybe 3 glasses...... all this leaves us non experts scrambling for a cause of why we are not loosing weight like we want. Does my hypo thyroid always stall my hardwork???? IN REALITY I KNOW IT'S BECAUSE I NEED TO GET OFF MY DUFF AND MOVE. If only I could have 2 more hours in the day or a really strong friend give that swift kick. All I know for sure - the thought of wearing a tight wedding dress needs to ge me motivated and restructure my days. Stay strong, we can do this..

If this is true, the choice is yours. Whether we eat or overeat, whether we exercise or lay on the couch watching TV - the choice is ultimately ours. I'm not saying it's an easy choice. I am not saying this is easy. But, we do have choice.

I also believe we cannot do this alone. Find a support system (whatever works for you). Stick to it like glue. None of us gets an extra 2 hours in the day. That's your sub-conscious giving you an excuse.

I'm hoping your wedding will be the best day of your life, and you do not want to have negative feelings about your body on that day. Do the work now. (Was that the swift kick you were asking for?)

Thanks jilly_bean, I will take that kick and start moving. The hardest part is getting up off the chair, maybe I wont sit down when I get home. " good eats to you", have a great day.
