| I lost 20 pounds last year eating low carb, but life seemed to get in the way and I gained it all back. January 05, 2009 I decided to try again. I started out on the Atkins plan, but for the last couple of weeks I have been unsatisfied with the results. My dad had the South Beach diet book on his book shelf and I started reading it. This plan seems like a lifestyle I could live with for. |

| I never did Atkins, but I do think this is a very sustainable program and for me, sustainability is critical to long term weigh management. Most people, if they try, can lose weight. The real key is as you go through the process can you learn how to make what you are currently eating interesting and satisfying enough so that you keep eating the same way even after you lose the weight you wanted to when you started out. Cuz if you can't, then you are just going to go back to your old way of eating and regain the weight. Good luck and best wishes! Ask questions as they come up! | |||||||||||

| As usual, Red said it perfectly. We have to find something we can live with. Welcome, Maggie. This is the best thing I've done for myself in a long time. Hope you find your answers here too. | |||||||||||
