When I first started working out at my gym, I noticed I was not losing after about a month. I was becoming very frustrated and one of the trainers told me that can happen when you first start exercising. Your body will tend to hold more water, muscles may become inflamed ect. One day I got on the scale and lost 6lbs in one week and have been steadily losing since. So just hang in and just keep doing what you are doing.

I do feel "swollen", particularly in my thighs...maybe I should back off a bit ?

I actually would not back off unless you really think you need to, but try taking some ibuprofen or other nsaid 30min prior to working out.

This is totally normal. But good. Dont look at the scale!!!! Look at how you look. I guarantee you look and feel better than you did when you started. keep going! You will see that weight will start to drop off after a while. The muscle growth will plateau.

That is a short term thing. Yes your legs will bulk but it will end up as slimmer toner legs ... keep up the good work
