| Well, I successfully lost about 15 lbs of baby weight a few years ago with SB. Then promptly got pregnant again. And put on another 40 lbs. Yikes! Now, 4 years later, I'm still dragging around 20+ of it and now's the time. So I started SB yesterday and look forward to even better results this time. | ||||||||||

| Welcome and best wishes!!! Be aware that many find subsequent trips to P1 to not have quite the same dramatic results as the first time around. Not really a problem as P2 is the real weight loss phase anyway, but it seems to be discouraging to some, so just set the expectations accordingly!! If it worked once it will work again!! | Good luck this time around! It should work again, since it is such healthy way to eat. I was glad to hear RedRox's comments, though, because I "only" lost 5 pounds on P1, and was a bit disheartened. I haven't actually lost any weight so far on P2 (my issue is portions size, I admit. And that I love peanuts and almonds, but that's another story) but there's no question that all of my clothes fit better. I see that more and more as each week goes by. And if I actually set my mind to cutting back on some of the not-as-good-for-you stuff, I know the weight will come off. That's all to say if you do this correctly, there's no reason you shouldn't lose. Good luck! | ||||||||||

| Hi there - Well I have definitely had my share of ups and downs and SBD has always been the one lifestyle where I have seen the best results - so after having fallen off the wagon AGAIN! I am back on it. I realize that visiting the boards is huge support for me and I have to make a point in reaching out for support on days where I am definitely having a hard time. Being an emotional eater is tough - because I have been stressed for the past 6 months-and I could use some friends. Joy | ||||||||||

| I don't know who reads through these threads! I am posting again and I just posted a couple days ago. I woke up late and didn't have time to pack my lunch (dang it) so I had to buy lunch today. I ended up going to the Vietnamese restaurant and ordered a dish with skinless boneless chicken charbroiled on top of greens, few tomatoes and cucumbers. On the side was some kind of vinagrette. There were onions too - a TON of them and I pulled them out because they weren't cooked all the way through - I'm at work and didn't want to have stinky breath! ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/introduction-forum-just-say-hello/4245-second-time-round-day-2-a.html Anyway - I almost gave into RICE! Thank goodness I didn't because I am really trying to stick to this. I feel great on my 4th day, my belly has come down some and I feel I have lost quite a bit of water. I think it helps that I have punched up my water intake a ton. Now the weekend is here and I am nervous! Just because I have 4 kids 11 years old and under, I have plenty of kid food in the house, treats and all! During the week it's easy because I follow the same routine, weekends not so easy so here's to looking positive and staying on course! I don't want to weigh myself because I hate getting stuck by the number on the scale but my pants are looser than they were the last time I put them on - YEAH!! ![]() Joy | ||||||||||

| I read through them! ![]() I understand that weekends can be more difficult due to the lack of structure and greater opportunities for temptation and unexpected circumstances. But really that's just life as we all know it. I think part of the learning process is getting used to that lack of structure and learning new coping strategies and developing contingency plans to allow you to weather those more successfully. And we often learn by our experiences and our mistakes. It's all a process and while it may not "work" great at first, the goal is improving the process so it gets easier and better and becomes a lifestyle that supports us instead of derails us. Just my random thoughts. Hope your weekend is a good one either way!! | |||||||||||

| RedRox you're awesome! I made a commitment to post on the boards every day so that I have the support I need to make it to my goal. And it means so much when someone gives me some words of encouragement. The first time I got on Phase 1 and SBD in general, I stalked the boards more than participated and I want to do things right so that I can move on to Phase 2 and be successful! So I am making a point to visit the boards even on the weekend - which makes the most sense since that's my downfall. It's so hard because I promised my 9 year old I would make breadpudding tomorrow, imagine that, breadpudding! Anyway, I'm still on track and all is good. Thanks again. Have a wonderful weekend.
