| Good Morning! I like a lot of other folks have gotten caught up in some of the latest and newest diet crazes which did not last long. I have been successful in the past with SB but not to the point of getting to Phase 3. I have about 15-20 lbs to lose and know this is the best plan for me, in fact my company doctor is the one who recommended this plan to me. I know these are excuses but my husband has been unemployed going on 6 months which has been extremely stressful as you can well imagine. I keep letting things side-track me and am afraid I am going to wake up some day and it is going to be too late. I am 56 and have promised myself an new, thin me this year and here it is the end of February and I keep losing and gaining the same few pounds. I know the boards are here for encouragement and that is why I stopped by. I see there are many success stories and folks going to Phase 3 which is fantastic. I have always been very disciplined and this is not like me to be so wishy washy. Also, where I work they are always bringing unhealthy food to celebrate anything. Help!!! | ||||||||||

| Hi! Welcome back! Funny how we can know this is the best plan, etc., but still look elsewhere. We all want that "quick fix" but it just does not exist. This is a life-long process and we have to want it, not just need it. If we don't want it, we won't be willing to work for it. I have to remind myself often of that fact, so I ask myself frequently, "How much do you want this?" | |||||||||||

| Also if you bring your own healthy foods to work, then you won't need to eat the crappy stuff that is available there. Anyone who works in an office deals with this on a daily basis. There are always more than ample opportunities to have non-healthy foods presented to us on a regular basis. No one is as interested in our own health and well being as we are though. At some point we just have to come to grips with the idea that just because something is "there" or offered to us, that we have to pick it up or accept it. I don't ask anyone to eat my healthy snacks at the office and I don't expect them to feed me their crap foods. They do not have my best interests at heart when they do that and I am responsible for what I put in my mouth and how I choose to live my life and I choose health and wellness. If they don't like that, then that's their problem, not mine. I'm not giving in on my principles and my health just to make someone else feel good about derailing me and making me sick like them. | |||||||||||
