| Hi my name is Barb and after researching SBD I decided tostart the program this Sunday. I need to buy supplies on Sat. I am 55 yrs old and I have 55lbs to lose. I am looking forward to starting. Any tips? | ||||||||||

| Don't worry about the rate of loss. Focus more on changing your eating habits and developing a plan you can live with for the rest of your life. Make things to eat that you enjoy, but be willing to try new foods and new ways of preparing old foods. Be sure to read the sticky topics on the food lists and the meal models as they give you a better blueprint for how to put the allowed foods together into a coherent plan than the book does, IMO. Do your best! Perfection is not required as consistency and longevity are what work the best over the long term. Enjoy the adventure!! | |||||||||||

| Congrats to starting a new way of life. I agree with red in the above post. I know when you first start out the number on the scale is what you want to see change. Concentrate on staying on plan, ask for help if you need it. This phase will help get the toxic cravings out of your system and you will probally have a inspiring weightloss. Some people lose a lot(10lbs or more), some people lose just a little but remember this is a life change and once you are in phase 2 you will be amazed at her great it makes you feel and how easy this plan really can be. Read the blogs for encouragement. Start a journal or blog and write down your meal plans. Some people in the begginning find planning their whole week or day helps alot and some just wing it. Try the journalling to see how it works for you. | Thanks for your support. I am really looking at this as a permanent healthy lifestyle change. I will miss my glass of white wine in the evening but it is a small price to pay for better health. I look forward to communicating my ups and downs, as I am sure I will have them. The difference this time is that I will not be defeated. | ||||||||||
