| Hi there everyone! I have finally decided to be serious about losing weight and so far I have lost 6 lbs in 6 days in Phase 1. I wasn't expecting this much weight loss. I must admit, though, that I do feel a little woozy at times. (I am also breastfeeding a 16 month old, so maybe it's dehydration.) My goal is to weigh 155# (I am currently 209.5), so I still have a ways to go, but now I believe I have dipped just below 30 BMI so I am no longer technically considered obese--yeah! | ||||||||||

| I believe if you are breast feedking you really should be in phase 2. He reccomends phase 2 for pregnant and lactating woman, so maybe you are not getting enough nutrients. | |||||||||||

| Yep, do P2 for now! Still a very healthy way to eat for both of you! And remember that scales weigh everything. There is a big difference between weight loss and fat loss. What you lost was mostly water weight from releasing stored glycogen in your system (the body's ready fuel supplies). It's actually pretty much physically impossible to lose 6 lbs of fat in 6 days as you would have needed to create a net 21,000 calorie deficit in order to do that! | |||||||||||

| Thank you. I am feeling awful today--achy all over with a headache like I have the flu, so I think I'll move on early to P2--I think this is day 7 of P1 and I am now down 9 lbs. Thank you very much for the advice. Last edited by momoffive; 03-29-2009 at 01:50 PM. | ||||||||||

| Make sure that as you move to P2 you still include all the good P1 carbs like milk, yogurt and beans along with the minimum of 4.5 cups of veggies per day. It really sounds like you may going very low carb from those symptoms which is not intended on SB in any phase. | |||||||||||

| Well, maybe that's part of the problem. I was under the impression milk and yogurt were forbidden in P1. I've just added a bowl of cereal and 1 fruit, and everything else is the same and my weight loss has stopped, but I feel a lot better. Thank you so much for the good advice. | ||||||||||

| The very first publication of the book excluded some items like dairy, but they have been included in P1 for 5 years now. Be sure to check the mostly current food lists that are posted as sticky topics in the P1 forum for the food lists and the meal models. When you move to P2, there are corresponding sticky topics in the P2 forum here as well. | |||||||||||
