Default Hello!

Hello,
I've tried SB in the past but could never get past Phase 1. I don't think I planned my meals and snacks very wisely. Does anyone suggest starting with Phase 2? I'm really looking forward to the support from the board. Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

There really is a purpose to the way it is designed. But also remember that this is not a perfection based program. A few missteps in P1 are not the end of the world and do not necessarily mean you should keep restarting from the beginning each time. So I'd probably recommend giving it another shot with better planning and just do the best you can for 2 weeks and then start transitioning into P2 at that point.

Having said that, the real heart of the program is P2. I think if most people ate according to P2 principles and portion guidelines, they would lose weight over time. If the choice comes down to adopting a P2 lifestyle or giving up entirely, then I'd choose the P2 lifestyle and exercise every time!

I think I'll stop beating myself up for making little mistakes. Thanks for the advice!

Lizard, I would also say that there is value in being sure you really understand what you can and cannot have in phase one. I find a lot of people think phase one is about eliminating carbs and that is not entirely true. Remember, many vegetables are still very good to eat in phase one. I encourage you to review the stickies in the phase one forum.

One last thing, like Red said, phase one is not about perfection. Many people make it through that phase following the program exactly, but others do not. This lifestyle is all about phase two. Trudge your way through phase one and it will all be better.
