| Hi and thanks for the welcome! I and DH had been on the Beach five years ago....Did well and maintained for a good bit of time, but.....ya'll know the story...got a little too comfortable with the "just a taste" or "I'll be able to take those five....ten....fifteen... etc pounds off in no time!" Well, it's now no time like the present!.. DH and I started back on the beach the day after Easter 2009, he has lost so far 18 lbs and I've managed to shed 13. We keep telling ourselves to stay focused and this WOE is really a better way for us both (it truly is) DH, thankfully has no health issues, I, unfortunately, inherited the "best" from family DNA, HBP, High Cholesterol (sp?) Thyroid and heart disease. All being maintained by meds, but it would be nice to reduce the amount I have to take. So, far enough about me, can't wait to "meet up" with all of you on the boards...support is an absolute. So "See ya'll on the Beach" | ||||||||||

| Welcome Home BermudaDreamer! I have tried and was successful on Atkins and Weight Watchers only to gain it all back PLUS! Its the "plus" that's the kicker. I recently quit smoking (will be 2 years this July ~YAY~) and am battling menopause (UGH!) so you can imagine my struggles with eating and weight gain! I am happy to report that after two weeks on the Beach, I feel sooooo much better and my ravenous carb cravings have subsided. Best wishes with your SB journey. Look forward to getting to know you! | Thanks for the welcome Chris. It does seem to get harder and harder as the years go faster and faster, but WE CAN DO THIS! One ounce at a time if need be. Good for you, to quit smoking! That alone is a major life health change. I never took it up, but my DS and DB both did, and it's been miserable for them to quit. | ||||||||||
