| Hi there, I am new to SBD and have a goal of around 160lbs. lost. I currently weigh 330 give or take and would like to weigh 170-175. I started my weight loss journey at just over 380lbs. I was diagnosed with Diabetes at that time and lost 50lbs. cutting out refined sugar, and most carbs. I think that SBD will be a good step in the right direction in controlling my diabetes and getting down to a healthy weight. I look forward to meeting you all and following on your WL journeys. | ||||||||||

| CurvyPhoenix, welcome. We have some things in common in that I also believe I had become diabetic when I started the SBD. I did not get an official diagnosis, but all the symptoms were there. I had a physical five months after starting the diet and my blood sugar was, and remains to be, just over 100. That is not great, but it is better than I think it was. I often address issues which are of interest to diabetics on my South Beach Diet blog -- I encourage you to check it out.
