| Hi Everyone! You guys are my heroes. I need help getting back on track. I was always too busy to work on my weight loss, however now that I have been laid off, I will have time for improving my health. Lets hope that it isn't too late. My family has several diabetics, I am going to the doctor soon and hope that my A1C's come back ok. I weighed 257 a few years ago and lost about 35 pounds with the south beach diet. I was so proud of myself. Then I went back to eating the wrong things. Now i weigh (dare I even say) 275. I cannot believe that I have done this to myself. I feel so bad, my back hurts, my knees hurt, my hips hurt, my feet swell, my face swells, I am constantly hungry. I know from past experience that when I get back on the SBD that I will feel so much better. | Hi - I understand just how you feel. I'm in the same boat myself. It is hard to stay on track and do the right things for ourselves. I'll be thinking of you and wishing you well on your journey. You've done this before; you can do it again! Try to remember the feeling you had when you were successful and keep that with you. How good it was to know that you were taking control and were in charge. Maybe it stopped for a while, but you can get it back & be successful again! Have a good day! | ||||||||||

| Welcome to the forum! The good thing about it is that you know it works. I encourage you to look at it as a lifestyle change, not a diet. Diets don't work permanently - period. Once we leave a diet and go back to our old way of eating, guess what happens? The SBD is a great way to eat with a lot of variety; it is one of the few programs I knew I could make a lifestyle change to. I wish you the best!
