I'm new to South Beach, but have successfully lost weight several times in my life, first with low-fat, then with Atkins, and most recently with Weight Watchers. I'd like to try something sensible that will take the weight off and KEEP it off in a sustainable way. I'm hoping South Beach is that way.
I'm almost 48 years old, female, and I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I am not sure what I weigh right now (too scared to get on the scale!) but I think it's about 220 (I'm 5'6") and so I need to lose about 70 pounds. I'm very motivated, tired of hurting and being tired all the time!
I know that my love of carbs (particularly bread and pasta) has been detrimental in my attempts to maintain a healthy weight, so I'm better off without them!
I've been on SB for three days now, and so far so good. I'm looking forward to participating in this on-line community, and sharing knowledge, support, and recipes.
