New To SB Hi All:
I am starting the South Beach Diet and am lost. I am 62, play lots of golf (4-6 times a week), work as a web developer. I played Baseball in college and have never been on a diet in my life. My doctor told me last Thursday that I have Adult Onset Type 2 Diabetes and that is the reason for the diet. I just quit smoking 6 months ago and I hope this is much easier. I have never been on a diet and I have so many questions about what I can and cannot eat. For instance is Ecrich Sausage a potential food source in Phase I? The doctor told me I only have to loose 20 lbs so I hope that is not big deal. I have never been much of a cook and am trying to learn, however, you know old dogs - new tricks.
