Default Back to The Beach

Hey! I'm baaack! How ya'll been?
Starting Phase 1 again today. It's been awhile since I've been serious. I was almost back to my pre-SBD eating habits. With Halloween coming up I have to put the breaks on the chocolate temptations. I bought 2 bags of those nummy mini chocolate bars because they were on sale, with the intent of giving it away to trick or treaters...I'll let you guess what happened to it. Now I'm on a downward spiral. :hide: I have not been excersizing one bit so I really need to get back on track. I have a really great motivator; a family trip to San Diego for Thanksgiving and I want to look & feel good. So I'm back..It worked great before and it's gonna work again, darn it! But I'm not giving up my coffee during phase 1 this time. (headache was unbearable in phase 1 last time)
Today:
Bfast:
2 cups coffee with SF creamer
3 egg scramble with 1/2 cup moz. & cheddar mix, salsa on top
snack: Nuts, oh those wonderful nuts, hehe, a handful almonds

I have no idea how much I weigh right now. I'm guessing 135?? I'll find out and post that tomorrow, gotta know that starting weight! I'm going shopping today for LF cheeses, some Splenda and ricotta, ya know, the staples.:speechless:

I had to go to the doctor yesterday for this nasty cold, and I weighed in at 130. Less than I thought! Woo hoo! but we all know it's not really about what the scale says, it's about how we feel and how our clothes fit. Well, I'm feeling bloated and jiggly, and my pants are getting tight. So there you go.
Yesterday for lunch I was in a rush so I ate a yummy phase 1 SBD meal. A little early in this stage to be resorting to the frozen meals, I know, but it really did the trick.
For a snack in the afternoon I ate a 1/2 an avocado plain and a mozarella stick.
Dinner last night: the family wanted Taco's so I made them, I had one, without the shell. Actually it was more like a taco salad with ground turkey, lots o' lettuce, tomato, onionion (that's Doug from King of Queens impression, only my hubby will get that hehe), and some jack cheese. 'Twas yummy.
For dessert I made some ricotta mocha with splenda and a little vanilla. Hit the spot.
Today I woke up early so I could make an egg dish with veggies. (4 eggs, one zucchini, 1/2 onion, 1/2 cup mushrooms and jack cheese. I made alot so there would be leftovers and ate half of it.
All that and a cup of coffee while I read my bible devotion this morning. (I was thinking about that headache I had last time I was on this program, and I read back through my journal. I guess I never did cut caffiene last time, so that wasn't it. I think it was just because I had sugar withdrawels really bad, and that's what gave me the headache. I hope that doesn't happen again.)
Next, I had just enough time to make the girls lunches and I actually made it to work on time for once. Too bad I have to wake up at 5:40 to fit all that in.:Morning:

Thinking about excersizing today, but remembered it minimum days all week....I have to get back in the saddle with it for sure. So I better think of some way to squeeze it in.

Hi Dawn! I don't really post anymore, just lurk! I too fell off the eating a bit, but I am working out really consistantly so that has saved me. We leave for Hawaii in 3 weeks, so I am currently all protein and veggies - trying to show off the lean 6-pack on the beach!

Keep it up - and remember, even 10 minutes of jump rope/sit ups/ push ups is better than nothing!

Amy

Default Day 3

Well, I did not excersize. I have a good excuse though. I'm sick, sick sick!
Blech. I walk from my car to my living room, get winded and go into a coughing fit you wouldn't believe. I'm on antibiotics now so hopefully, I'll be feeling better very soon.
Been doing good on the Beach. Yesterday, I was in another hurry and ate another Phase 1 friendly SBD frozen meal. But it didn't hit the spot and I wasn't real hungry so I only ate 1/2 of it. Later, I had a mozarella stick and...a diet Dr. Pepper.
For dinner, I made the "Savory Chicken Saute" from the SBD book. I had made it before the first time I did phase 1 and made a note in the book that everyone in the family liked it. I made asparagus (with a little Smart Balance on it, since I forgot to buy lemon) and a salad of lettuce, tomato, cuc, onionion, (chuckle) and used a new low cal LS salad dressing that I did not like and ended up putting a little ranch on it as well. Well, the dinner was a hit again. Hubby loved it and my 8 year old ate everything on her plate! These days it's so easy to turn to the convenient bad for foods for the kids while we eat the good stuff, just because they make a fuss. But I've noticed that whenever I make the SBD dinners, my kids surprise me and eat everything. That just goes to show you that whatever their heads tell them they are wanting, their bodies are responding to what it really needs.

Last night I made the ricotta mocha again, even though I wasnt hungry I was craving something sweet and it was easy.
This morning I ate the other half of the egg & veggies I made yesterday and 2 slices of turkey bacon. I'm on my 2nd cup of coffee.
I brought a Moz stick and some sugar snap peas for a snack today.
Today I think I'm feeling a little better so I might take my daughter on a walk up the trail behind our house after she gets done with her minimum school day, after we go to the parent teacher conference and before I pick up Eva from preschool. (Squeezin it in baybay).
Onward!:Boxing:

Default No exercise again.

Just feeling blah. Pmsing too now. Yesterday Danielle came home from school with a cough and now she's feeling fluish. Poor thing. Same thing I started out with 3 weeks ago and it just won't leave. So, there ya go, my excuse for not excersizing yesterday.
For lunch yesterday, I ate leftover chicken over leftover salad, and added a 1/2 an avocado. Did the trick.
????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/showthread.php?t=1290
For a snack, I had a SF ice cream bar. I can't believe my grocery store doesn't sell SF Fudgesickles anymore! The nerve of them! I'm going to have to request them next time I go to the store, because those other low carb ice creams are way too fattening.
For dinner, the girls wanted Pizza, so I threw one in the oven and it smelled sooooo good. I ended up picking off some cheese/sauce off the top, couldn't resist! And it was sooooo good. Nothing else sounded good for dinner but I forced down a bread-less sandwich of 2 slices of turkey, tomato, lettuce, onionion, and....? that was it.
I was still hungry after so that wasn't good, but by request I made some SF FF chocolate pudding, and that was mmmm mmmmmm good.
This morning I was very bad. I just couldn't stomach eating eggs again. (did I ever mention that I'm mildly allergic to them? If I eat too many of them I get an upset stomach and I break out.) I couldn't get oatmeal out of my head, so I made some (the non-instant kind that is better for you). I put some splenda and cinnamin on it and it hit the spot. I know that was a no no on phase 1, but what can I say? I caved. Unfortunately, now I have cravings for mooooooore. I ate a moz. stick as a snack and I'm still hungry. I have some sugar snap peas with me, but man, I am wanting something a lot more substantial than that. I have no idea what I'm going to do for lunch.
I took out some steak for dinner, and I think I'm out of SBD lunches. Maybe I'll make a tuna salad. I don't want to give up already!
Mike is out of town and it is so easy to just eat what I get/make for the girls. I'm going to try to stick to my guns here, but it ain't gonna be easy this weekend.:Bang:

:Morning:
Up coughing and blowing my nose most of the night. This sinus infection really sucks and it must be bad because it seems like everyone has it up here in Tahoe. Good news is, I am feeling slightly better this morning.
I'm trying to remember what I ate yesterday! I think my sinuses are clogging the memory cells in my brain as well as my nose :speechless:
I know I was really struggling yesterday at lunchtime, and I almost caved and ate leftover pizza but I didn't! I was going to eat tuna salad with hard boiled eggs over some greens, but once the eggs were done, and I had snacked on some celery w/ all nat. PB while waiting for those eggs to boil, I didn't much feel like the tuna anymore. So I made a Big Salad with lettuce tomato mushrooms an egg, and a little avocado and a little ranch. It was very satisfying. As a matter of fact I felt too full, so I did not have a snack in the afternoon.
For dinner I made some broiled sirloin steak (about 6 oz I think) with onionion, mushroom and garlic sauteed in olive oil. I did use a teeny bit of worchishire sauce on the side. I know it's got bad stuff in it, but the sugar content says 1gram of sugar per serving so I didn't think that would do me in.

That's all I had and I was full.
I had some ricotta mocha for dessert.
This morning I had 2 scrambled eggs with a little cheddar cheese on top, and 2 slices of turkey bacon, and I'm on my 2nd cup of coffee.
I have to admit, I'm pretty proud of myself for staying strong yesterday. I've been praying a lot not just about the diet but about this cold. I've already been prayed over 3 times for God to heal me of this terrible cold, so I'm really hoping He does soon. I want to be normal again.
Today will be another difficult one, since I take my girls to 3 ballet rehearsals throughout the day, in a town that's not close enough to come home and eat lunch, so we were planning on eating out. I have no idea what I'm going to do about that. Hmmm...We'll be leaving at 12:00, so maybe I can squeeze in a good lunch before we leave, and bring snacks. Ya, ya that's the ticket.
Enough of my ramblings for this morning! Caio for now.(hey I'm a poet) har

I've been checking new posts daily and there hasn't been any other than mine and Amy's. Looks like I'm the only one on the SBD these days, hehe. Oh well, that's ok. This journal is not that interesting and it's really just for me anyway. It really does help me to keep track of my progress, and be accountable...so onto day 6
Yesterday it seemed like I pigged out, because my schedule was thrown off and I ate more frequently, but didn't really eat that much, and I think I was successful at sticking to permitted foods. I must have done something right, because I went ahead and checked my weight this morning and it was 126.
I haven't been 126 since...my wedding 10 years ago? YEAH!
I still have to keep in mind that I know when I go onto phase 2 that will level off some, and I still have a pudge over my belt that is bugging me. (and I'm hoping my scale is accurate!)
Ok, I'm trying to remember yesterday's food...it was a little chaotic. I ate some nuts before I left yesterday, the morning got away from me and I didn't have time to make anything else. Oh, I remember, there was one little SF choc. pudding cup in the fridge, so I ate that too. Not that healthy but it just sounded good.
I was super hungry by the time in between a bday party my 4 year old went to and the ballet rehearsal my 8 year old Danielle was going to, and she wanted Panda Express. There are some healthy choices avail there so I figured I could find something. Danielle got some Gen Chicken which I love, but I can live without, and the noodles, which I usually would eat, but not a favorite, and Pot Stickers. That was the real test for me, I must have had one of those little tempting dumplings in my grip three different times, heading for my mouth and fought the urge. I really love Pot Stickers. So anyhoo, I ordered somthing called Mongolian Chicken, a sauteed chicken and veggies with some sort of sauce that probably had sugar in it, but it was t the best choice and I was hoooongray. That was it.I wasn't even tempted to indulge in the fortune cookie.
I got home later, and had a mozzarella stick and something else...more nuts?? Can't remember. Then I had to go back out for another ballet rehearsal (this year's Nutcracker schedule is killin' me) so Dinner was running late by the time I got home from that . I resisted eating what I made for the girls, and cut up some leftover steak onion & shrooms from last night, added some broccoli and zucchini and made a stir fry with some LSodium Soy Sauce. Even though I was feeling like I had ate too much, I had an SF Ice cream bar before bed because I was craving sweets.
This morning I really really didn't want eggs again, but I kept telling myself I only have two more days to go before I am at one week, and I didn't want to blow it now. So I forced myself to make a 3 eggs omelet, with ham LF american & cheddar cheese, and onionion. I'm on my 2nd cup of coffee and I'm full. Too bad I'm still craving sweets.
Mike will be back home tonight and I can get back on track and not feel so scattered. I just wish I was all better physically. My nose is still stuffed, coughing and now my eyes are all baggy too. This really sucks. Tues. we are volunteering at an Autumn Fest for our church (Oh no, All that CANDY!:OMG: ) It would be nice to feel good for that.

Wow, I really wrote a novel today, I guess I'm making good use of the extra hour of daylight savings time. LOL

Way to go on the weight Dawn!

Make sure you have some sugar free gum for the Harvest Fest - very hard to eat chocolate or candy while chewing yummy bubble gum!! I am starting a new journal too, so I will keep you company!
