Default A New Journal for Amy!

Well, I am not starting strict SBD today, but will be relatively on tomorrow. I am struggling a bit because my trainer wants me eating part of a protien bar before workout and a protein shake after, and I don't think they are perfectly SB friendly, but I will have to do a mix! We leave for Hawaii on Nov 15th, so I would really like to buckle down and feel my best before we go. I am not struggling at all with exercise - ran 7 miles yesterday and I am training 3 days a week for an hour. It feels so good - my muscle tone is really developing. I am also pretty much a size 2 in everything (a 4 once in a while). At almost 31, I can totally wear a denim mini and flip flops with my BIKINI on the beach and not look scary!!

I will start posting menus tomorrow! I have found the yummiest turkey meatballs and cooked chicken at TJ's which is nice - they make lunch really easy, as do the carb concious LEan Cuisine meals with a V8. I know we are not supposed to eat prepared food on phase 1, but I have to with my psycho schedule right now!

See you tomorrow!

Amy

Default Hi Welcome Back!

You go girl! Size 2?! Woo! That rocks. Very inspiring.
My opinion is that as long as the frozen entrees have Phase 1 friendly ingredients and aren't full of fat, why not? I just bought 3 more SBD meals that say phase 1 on the package too. It just makes it easier.
Nice to see you back on the boards. I'll check in with you tomorrow. :Hug1:

Well, the attack of the haloween candy caused a bit of struggle, but it really left me feeling icky. I am back on track and am really trying to cleanse my system a bit today- lots of water and veggies for me!

Yesterday went pretty well -

Skipped breakfast - had green tea, then a starbucks (venti half caf nonfat sugar free hazelnut latte). Lunch was beef broth and edamame with soy sauce. Snack was 10 almonds and 2 turkey meatballs. Dinner - chicken with organic marinara and parmesan, then snack of whole wheat bread with fake butter, cinnamon and splenda. Had some adult beverages with my sis in law (diet cherry 7up with vodka) while watching Hitch, but no snacks!! Wa-hoo! Also went for a 30 minute bike ride while pulling the boys.

Today has been a little off - we went to welcome some friends across the finish line at a 1/2 marathon, so we stopped at the bagel shop on the way - I had an oatmeal bagel with light cream cheese and coffee w/ 1/2 and 1/2 and sweet and low. Managed to avoid the donuts our friends brought. Came home and drank some chicken broth from my son's soup and ate a couple slices of roast beef. I think I am going to take a little snooze now and we'll go for a stroll when the fam wakes up! No idea about dinner yet, but I am thinking a low carb chili and salad.

Amy

PS - Only 9 days til Hawaii - Aloha!!!

It has been so quiet here lately! I am still a SB fan and working on becoming a follower again. Hawaii threw me off a bit ... Pina Coladas, yummmy! Then we came home to the presence of Christmas goodies and crazy holiday schedules. I kept up my 3x a week 60 minute workout schedule, which saved me. Now I am trying to follow SB for most meals. I would like to return to P1 for a week, but there has been so much going on that I don't want to set myself up for failure. Tonight we have a black tie event, so I am going to allow myself to eat some non SBD foods and drink wine!

I still love SBD - my family eats better, my 4-year-old knows we don't buy bread with HFCS and the boys love dried fruit and nuts and hb eggs...

Well, many months later, I am back! I am up and have been LAZY!! I have spent 6 months letting food control my life and am back to the weight I started at. I find myself drinking socially and eating crap - fries, ice cream, fast food, on and on...We lost our trainer to a better job, one of my training buddies got pregnant, it got cold and foggy - excuses excuses!

SO yesterday, I decided to send myself to boot camp. My best friend gets married a week from tomorrow and my husband and I go to Vegas in 3 weeks. He actually said to me - "Babe, I love you no matter what, but remeber how hot you looked last summer - can you get there again??". He was NOT being bad to me in any way - it was a valid question. I have gained back about 12 pounds - and when you don't have much to lose, that's a lot to gain. So I am motivated and I really hope to do Phase one from today to next Friday. I will stray slightly for the wedding (champagne to toast, small piece of cake) then back on Phase one for an additional week (through Friday, July 13th). From there to the 19th when I leave for Vegas, I will follow Phase two.

I really want to get back to my goal (about 112) and stay there. My clothes fit better, I felt better, and it was a happy place for me. I know this board is quiet now, but I will post anyway, just to keep myself on track!

Well, day one passed and day two is rolling on well. I have been drinking a lot of suntea, which I hope is acceptable. I spiked mine this afternoon with rum, which is not a great choice, but I have avoided snacks/sweets and even brought my own fudgesicles for homemade ice cream time at the inlaws (sigh...)!
