| I'm a little disappointed - doesn't seem to be a whole lot of action on this board, but that's okay - things can always pick up! My weight just isn't moving like I'd like it to, I've only dropped 15 lbs. But I am definitely seeing a difference in my clothes. I've gone from my 18 jeans (elastic waist) to my size 14 and at least now I have a selection to consider for work - unlike the four outfits I was rotating there for about three months because I stubbornly refused to go out and buy a bigger size! Dr. Phil was right about getting rid of your too big clothes as you go along. Had I not done that, I may not have gotten back on the bandwagon when I did. Not having something to wear is a real incentive! Jan 1st I was 210.8 and the lowest I've been is 195 - I keep bouncing up and down a pound or two. ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/journal-your-way-thin/1358-ginadayes-journal.html So, okay, I've found this journal section and I'm going to use it! This is a good day to start, as I'm going to a bonco party tonight. I'm already planning on having one frozen daquiri and one piece of Tomato Basil Square, but . . . I WILL stay away from everything else!!!! And I will report back here tomorrow - I will be accountable to MYSELF because I am the ONE that matters!! I am doing this for me . . . and there is no better reason than that!!! Breakfast: eggbeater omelet w mushrooms and feta cheese 3 slices bacon 5.5 oz. V-8 juice Lunch: Balsamic Chicken with spinach and diced tomatoes (1/2 of a chicken breast) More tomorrow. My lunch hour at work is over! | ||||||||||

| 'Wow - where does the time go? First of all, haven\'t journaled because my home computer is on the fritz . . . needs a new motherboard. The tech took it last night, after finally figuring out the problem. Anyway, I don't have a lot of time to get on here at work - has to be my lunch hour. I gained a couple of lbs. and stayed there (197) for two weeks . . . even though I followed the plan! But I think I was still consuming too many good calories. Anyway in the last week I'm down four . . . so I'm happy, happy And my clothes . . . oh my goodness it is so great to have a closet full of clothes I can now wear. In fact I just made a "horrendous" discovery here at work. The blouse I wore is so big that it hangs below the jacket that I just discovered this morning fits me again! I was appalled when I noticed in the restroom mirror! Fortunately most of the department is out today and I have a black jacket that I keep here for those cold days, so I was able to change my outfit! Weather's been great, so I've been walking outside, which is a refreshing change. My goal for March is to get to 190. That would make 11 lbs. for January, five for February and Five for March! Reasonable I think . . . and doable! I'd love to lose another 5 in April before I go to the Kitchen and Bath show in Vegas (for work). Today's menu: Breakfast: 6 oz. V8 juice, Quiche (eggbeaters, spinach, mushrooms, bacon, sun-dried tomatoes, cheese) (my sister gave me the recipe and it makes four servings - love it!)\ 1 Mozzarella cheese stick Lunch: 1 C chicken/veggie soup (homemade) Tossed salad with fat-free vinegarette dressing Snack: Apple Dinner: 4 oz. salmon fillet, cauliflower, tossed Salad Snack:\r\nSF Popsicle (this has become my nightly treat) only 35 calories! Kudos this week: Went to the movies and did NOT have my Kids Pack (popcorn and small frozen coke) . . . never thought I could go to the show and not indulge myself. | I was down to 190 this morning. Am losing .2 lbs. at a time. Grrrrr. But at least I am losing. I think exercise is slowing my weight loss - but I am losing inches unbelievably fast . . . so I'll take it. For anyone peeking in, you should know that I am in my mid 50's with thyroid problems and other health issues that seem to keep my metabolism at a crawl. Will write more later. Am anxious to start keeping a journal! | ||||||||||

| Ya-hoo I finally broke into the 180's! Thanks everyone for their encouragement. I still haven't been able to get on here and journal like I really, really want to . . . just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day! I joined the fitness center at work and for 10 work days now I have used my lunch hour to walk on the treadmill and use a few weight machines (ever so lightly!). I walked 2.25 miles in 40 minutes yesterday. Today I got sidetracked on my lunch hour and ended up only having 30 minutes to walk, but I took the dog for another 20 minute walk this evening. . . so I'm still good to go! ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/showthread.php?t=1358 I've been having a soy protein shake for breakfast every morning, with a few strawberries thrown in. Lunch has been either a salad or a wrap (made on a low carb tortilla, two slices of turkey breast or ham, 2% cheese and lettuce/tomatoe. Today I got a side of steamed veggies from the cafe to go with my wrap. Dinner tonight was leftover speghetti squash with marinara sauce "beefed" up with ground turkey, onions, green pepper and mozarella cheese melted on top. Kudos for the week - got through my birthday celebrations with a slight loss (down from 190 to 188.6). Went out last night to celebrate with a friend and I passed on the long island iced tea and had the WW french onion soup and mozarella sticks for my meal. I had a light dinner because I gave in and had a piece of birthday cake in the afternoon (because Carol brought it in especially to celebrate my birthday and I honestly thought it would be rude to not have a small piece) It was a lemon pudding cake with a light glaze on it. Someone also brought in a yellow cake with buttercream frosting that was twice the calories (I checked) - so I chose the lesser of two evils. Went to Sears last night and was so tickled with the smaller size I could wear that I bought 5 new blouses for work. I also brought some boxes home so I can start packing away my bigger sizes. I'm a little afraid to give them away - so I'm going to stick them in the attic (out of sight, out of mind) for one year - then I'll wash them and donate them.
