You never know! Money and time are always the big issues.

First snow today!! Looks purty!!! And really just a heavy dusting, maybe a 1/4 inch or so, so problems from it should be minimal. Supposed to be sunny this afternoon and 50s/60s over the weekend, so it won't last either, so enjoying it now looking out the dining room window.

Hope you don't mind me co-inhabiting your journal a bit. I don't really have the desire to start another one. I don't even use the one I have very much at the place that's still working other than to check in on Laura and Anne.

Probably a C1 in my future this afternoon at some point. BTW, I found out that it is mostly the basic Baptiste power flow they have tweaked a bit for their own sequencing and preferences. It really is a nice complete flow that is very intelligently put together. But I guess you knew that already!! I'm sure Breathe has different levels too, so I guess it would be comparable to their beginner classes as well.

Lets share this journal since I'm here to talk to you! ; )
Heading to essential oils class at 3:30. Commencement weekend so lots of cleaning and freaking. Older boy man is home w/ friends-so good to have him back under this roof until next semester begins in two weeks. They are on a trimester schedule. Working my food as always but plan to induge on Sunday. Size 8 in lululemon now-not too shabby!

Size 8 in generally pretty form fitting lycra/stretchy stuff is probably a few steps up from shabby I reckon'!! Forgot it was commencement weekend for ya! Definately enjoy and indulge to your hearts content!! Maybe even a martini or two!!

You know it finally hit me a few weeks ago why santosha/sarah from TOB Version 1 called her new beetle, "Lulu". It was a YELLOW beetle which are of course kind of lemon shaped as well and she's a yoga teacher... Well DUH!!! God I am so dense sometimes!!!

What kind of mat did you end up getting? After 3.5 years my cheapo Danskin is about due for a replacement. I've kind of had my eye on a Manduka Eko despite the hefty price tag.

I gotta lay off the ice cream myself!

And thanks for sharing!!

MAHA MAT
BREATHE YOGA PRO $65.00

Item #5360
The Maha mat is the lightweight (4.5 lbs) travel version of the premium black mat. It has better overall traction than most mats, ample cushioning and costs $20 less than the black mat. The maha and the black mat are two of the highest quality yoga mats available. At about 5mm thick, the Maha Mat offers superior durability over most mats with a unique herringbone texture for increased traction. This mat will lay and stay very flat during your practice even on carpeted floors. It is a good choice if you are looking to upgrade from your regular sticky mat. 71” long x 24” wide x 5mm thick 4.5 lbs 98% pvc, 2% polyester Latex free Made in Germany

This is what I own but don't love it. I have to lay my yogitoes down when we start independent Sun B's cuz I am beginning to drip and sweat and it gets too slippery. I now sweat quickly like my body knows whats coming-most who don't sweat as much swear by the mat.
I think next time I will try the Jade Harmony but the maha does not wear out at all. So it may be a while. Breathe is selling its Tees worldwide now. They are soooo great. You should check them out. Maybe we can get them into your studios.

OK. I won't get that one! (BTW, I found them from other internet sites at a little under $50!) I've practiced on my wife's Jade Harmony a few times when my mat was drying and I found it a little too thin for my tastes. The Danskin is kinda cushy and I've gotten used to that I guess. And my yogitoes goes down when I walk in and stays there until I get up from savasana! So I never really practice with my feet touching the mat itself. One of the reasons I struggle with paying for a high priced mat since my contact is with the yogitoes anyway. It would be more for either durability or enviro-friendly reasons at this point I guess.

And pretty much everything CPY does they rebrand. The waters they sell come from a local artesian spring company in Boulder (Eldorado Springs) and for a long time they used to be the standard Eldorado Springs label on it. Now they have them made for them with the Corepower logo and label on them. They sell Corepower branded clothing too which I think probably comes from Be Present as they are a locally based company and fairly small compared to Lululemon I think so probably more willing to engage in that kind of a distribution channel. I think they even carry one line of the Manduka mat with the corepower label on it too. So unless Breathe wanted to have it rebranded to take their name off of it and put CPY's on it, not sure it would go over. But I know some of the folks on the retail side now from working part time in the corporate offices, so if you have a contact there, let me know and I can certainly pass it along.

Honestly I would get a gaim again for $20 at Barnes and Noble or check out choices at TJMaxx or Marshalls. Sometimes they have eco friendly attractive ones that are extra thick. I have 5 yogitoes mat towels-kelly and sage green, dark purple and red and the breast cancer pink ribbon one. I love my x-tra long one the best. Love the new ones with the creatures on them. They do lose their stick to the mat quality and I am foot flicking my towel back on the mat now frequently. Yoga was so wonderful today. They congratulated me today as I snuck out before savasana to feed the boys swim team breakfast They have become a community of real friends. Made it to yoga six days this week! Yehah!

Hey I have the name of a person to contact within the retail team at CPY if anyone at Breathe is interested. I think we're up to 27 studios in the midwest and west at this point and still growing, so it's probably a decent sized channel and exposure.

And I fessed up in a PM to you!

Nice on the 6 days! It really is a wonderful community. I enjoy mine as well!

Hey how did Sunday go?? Still recovering??
????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/showthread.php?t=2215

Two good programs on Sunday for me. Afternoon was basically a 2 hour practice and then discussion on yoga mythology. So as we practiced, Laura told the stories and the mythology of some of the various poses and deities. Wasn't really heated or particularly even a vinyasa class although it did keep a lot of the components of a flow, so not a lot of sweating, but still pretty demanding. I like stories! LOL!! Morning session was a bit different, but interesting as well. One of the CPY instructors describes herself as a natural empath and so she led the discussion about how to "read" students and weave what you see in their body language into the language of how you cue and describe things to relate it back to their environment outside the studio. We did an example at the end where we had five people on their mats at the time and she demoed how she would notice things and then speak to that in what she was saying at the time or give specific reassurances to people as she stepped into their spaces and "scanned" them. :OMG: Kinda freaky stuff really.

Default Graduation

Sunday was wonderful. Are you on Facebook? Anne, Doc and Laura visit me there and all my yogis. I plan on putting pics up on there. The ceremony was historical and very moving. Party was fab!!! Great friends and food! Got lovely gifts and surrounded by those I love most in the world. A good day!!!!
Yoga has been great. Cyndi just got back from the big yoga conference and last nights class was lots of different hip openers. Very different but wonderful. Hoping to do Mikes class tonight at 7. When I am in the studio I am sooo grateful for having it in my life-keeps me sane and fit!!!!Namaste!!!

:Morning:
Nope, not on facebook. Glad it all went great and sounds like a good time was had by all!!

Ever read The Courage to Teach by Parker Palmer?
Amazon.com: The Courage to Teach: Exploring the Inner Landscape of a Teacher's Life: Parker J. Palmer: Books

A teacher on a progressive blog (DailyKos) recommended it as the one book everyone should read to get an understanding of teachers and their profession. Was wondering how it might apply to my current situation? If it was generic enough. From the comments on Amazon, the things people didn't like were things that actually appealed to me, and the things that people did like appealed to me! LOL! It sounds very yogic actually, although most things seem to do that now anyway!

Had a killer C3 with lovely Laura last night before cleaning the studio down south. Makes for a longer night, but needed the hours! Hopefully can rebound enough for Marley's C3 tonight!! :Sleepy:
