Hiya French. Sorry you're feeling blah today! PMS sucks!

If you want to keep a journal what you do is just start a thread and then everyday "reply" to that same thread with your daily entry!

Hang in there! You'll see results, it never feels like around that time of the month though does it?

French how's it going on the diet for you? I know I see you post everywhere and you are so wonderful in supporting everybody else but what about you? You are making a very big adjustment to your life, by finally eating nutritious food in decent quantities. Give your body time to adjust. You will NOT be gaining a bunch of weight as you fear, but instead your body will begin to appreciate FINALLY being taken care of. That will come back to you not only in weight loss but in good health!

So tell me how it's going?:Love Doctor:

Frenchy-fry! I am doing much better thanks :Hug2:

I sometimes go through some of the older journal entries and try to revive them if we haven't heard from the person in a while. With you, I know you are all over the board, but was wondering if this post was still affecting you!!

Rye bread is only ok if there's no bleached, enriched flour in it. It must be 100% whole rye flour. But know what is ok? Sourdough bread. But make sure it is real sourdough and not one with enriched/bleached flour. Make sure what ever bread you are eating is at least 3 grams of dietary fiber. Except they say the sourdough is ok if it is at least 2 grams.

Try eating whole grain crackers instead of bread. There's whole grain english muffins. Try 100% whole grain instead of whole wheat. It's not as bitter - cardboard like.

After being on Atkins for 3 years before this diet, eating whole wheat was bliss for me! But before Atkins I used to feel just like you did.

this one was back in the day... when i was a younging and didnt know how to post....look how much i have grown up...(lol).

off to look for rye or sourdough...... what about whole foods stores would they have that???? yeah i guess if i went years without eating it... it would be like a little bit of heaven too....but being a wonder bread kid its so hard to get use too.... infact i skipped it today.....i really really am happy on the phase one.i want to stay here and just add things in now and again..and dont lecture me i know i cannot...lol....i think i will pick up some strawberries tonight while i'm out and about....instead of bread and instead of nuts as a snack something a little different.... one question though why do they say not to eat fruit in the morn???? thats very weird to me....i wont do it.... but i would like to know why???

The sugar in fruit is much simpler than from complex carbohydrates like bread. The rush from the sugar can cause insulin spikes that can leave you shakey and cause cravings, so they don't want you to start off your blood sugar that way in the morning. After you have been on Phase2 for a while, you could try having some of the lower sugar fruits in the morning and see if you do ok. Those would be blueberries strawberries, canteloupe - melons or berries basically.

Whole Foods has an excellent store made sourdough. I use it all the time. Take some olive oil and brush it on a slice and slap that on the bbq grill for a minute and add some chopped tomatoes and basil with lemon juice squeezed into it and you have some awesome bruschetta.

Also, Whole Foods is where I get that whole wheat cranberry walnut sourdough. If you find that bread at your Whole Foods try it. It's amazing. The little itty bitty pieces of cranberries don't add up to much so I think it's ok for breakfast.

Oh yeah, if you decide to snack on fruit, make sure you have a little fat with it like some nuts or a cheese stick. Again, this is because of the sugar load. The fat cuts down on the insulin rush. And by the way, big insulin rushes make you retain water which is stored in your fat cells, so don't think it's cool to skimp on fat. Fat is not evil! Too much fat maybe but some actually helps you lose weight
