Nice to meet you.
I have been struggling with food and my weight for my whole life, even when I was very thin. I've recently gotten my head together and in a great place to finally tackle my emotional eating and learn to have a new, healthy, relationship with food. When I visited Italy in college, I was on the Amalfi Coast when I had an image of myself as a "picky eater," someone who only eats when she is hungry and then chooses the healthiest, most delicious foods she can find. I want to finally become that image of my best self: the Amalfi Girl.
I'm on Phase 2 of South Beach and have been since the middle of this month (September 2010). This is my second time around--last time on SBD I lost about 70 Lbs. and maintained the loss for a long time. I'm ready to lose it and maintain it for the rest of my life using this lifestyle. I started trying to eat more healthfully and exercising regularly back in January, and between that and South Beach I've gone from 269 to 238. I want to get down to 205 (I'm 6 feet tall and I look and feel good at that weight--and it's a weight I can maintain!). Here's my plan for the day:
B: SB friendly cereal with dried currants and 1/2 cup FF soy milk
S: 30 pistachios
L: Big salad with grilled chicken, mixed veggies, 2 T feta and 2 T olive oil and vinegar dressing
S: Skim milk latte with splenda; 1 cup vegetarian chili (homemade)
D: Vegetarian curry with tofu with lettuce and 1/2 cup bismati rice
Dessert: sugar free mocha smoothie made with FF soy milk, 2T FF whipped cream
Welcome to my journal!
