| 5 Keys to Stay Motivated! Borrowed from: Marilu.com A big obstacle to having the healthy body you’ve always wanted seems to be motivation. Staying motivated is the key to eating healthy, exercising regularly and finding the willpower you need to stay on track. It’s the motor for flexing your discipline muscle when others around you are letting theirs get flabby! But why is it so hard for us to stay motivated, to pursue what we know is good for us, and to give up the habits that make us sick, fat, and old before our time? I’ve learned that you don’t stay motivated unless five systems are in place. All your good intentions to change your life and lose weight and get healthy will completely fall apart unless you: • Set up your environment to “win.” (Time, space, tools) ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/journal-your-way-thin/830-s-hard-stay-motivated-because-i.html • Find the right support team. (Friends, support group, online community) • Find a program that you can live with every day (No quick-fix diets) • Learn to love the food that loves you. (Healthy food that tastes good) • Learn to navigate the “mind-fields” of self-sabotage! (Too numerous to list here!) It may sound difficult, but once you understand how to put these systems in place, staying motivated will be a breeze. Idea why don't you look over the list and answer the following question to yourself, or better yet, please post your comments. (Your comments are great because not only do they help me, they also help others.) “It’s hard to stay motivated because I…” | |||||||||||

| It is hard to stay motivated...because I lose focus. I will start a new workout routine, or a healthier way of eating, and I'll be really excited about it in the beginning. Then after a few weeks I lose interest and the motivation it takes to be consistent enough to get lasting results. I know it takes time to see results, and the healthiest way to lose weight is slowly. But I guess I get bored before the efforts start to pay off, and then I start slacking. I've love to be energized and motivated to start each day, doing what I know I need to do, but I just don't know how to get there | |||||||||||

| ....because I procrastinate & then it's too late to have the right foods ready when I go somewhere. When I put things off, I get stressed, & then I want to overeat because I'm so anxious. | ||||||||||

| Because I want results and I want them now, so then when I don't see them after a few weeks im like why diet if im not going to loose weight anyway. Although I continue to eat healthy because I know if I don't i'll gain more weight. | ||||||||||

| hard to stay motivated cause everyone always tells me im so skinny. I don't feel skinny, I mean I dn't feel fat either, but just because im not overweight doesn't mean that I shouldn't be able to get to my goal weight. It's very hard to stay motivated when everyone tells you your crazy for wanting to diet. I'm so scared though that if I can't get to my goal weight of 115, then how will i be able to loose weight once I get pregnant, if i can't even loose it now when i don't have kids and im in my 20's............. | ||||||||||

| because I get tired of always being responsible. I'm the "good employee", "good wife", "good friend" and sometimes I just want to let go of all that responsibility. It's so easy to sleep in on your day off and say, "no, I'll skip going to the gym this morning and just lay here". Or when I've waited too long to eat by saying, "I don't want to take the time to do the right thing so I'll just cut corners 'this time'." | ||||||||||
