Thumbs up Speedy's Progress

HI EVERYONE!! Alright here goes. The best way to get through this is to have friends who have already started the journey! I will do my best to keep this updated. I have a lot of down time at work so I have no excuse not to be around.

A little bit about me. I am a single mom of 1 5yo daughter. I work midnights as a Sheriff's 911 Dispatcher. I have been on the job for 5 years now and absolutely love it.

I have been changing my eating habits for a couple months now, the biggest hurdle was kicking the pop and latte addiction. As of June 1st, I switched to decaf coffee, so far no probs.

I started on Phase 1 on June 2nd. I will copy and paste my first days meals from the introduction thread.

Day 1

- South Beach frozen meal for Phase 1, which was Kung Pao Chicken, not my favorite
- Then I had a bowl of steamed broccoli w/black & red pepper seasoning.

- 3 scrambled eggs with a handful of mushrooms and a pinch of lowfat cheddar cheese. That really filled me up.

- In the first 24 hrs I drank 90 ounces of water.

Day 2

- Black bean soup with low sodium/sugar salsa. Added a pinch of low fat cheddar cheese and 1 tablespoon of sour cream.

- 1/2 cup of salsa, 1/2 cup black beans, and 3/4 cup of cooked 90% ground sirloin. Added a pinch of low fat cheddar cheese and a 1 tablespoon of sour cream.

- For a snack I have 2 hard boiled eggs.

- Cup of steam broccoli & sugar free jello cup

- reduced fat - low moisture cheese stick

- Water approx 50 ounces

Hi Steph! Welcome to the journals. Sorry I'm slow getting here.

Are you sure you're eating enough? Are you following the meal model here? http://www.sbdbb.com/showthread.php?t=527 It's important to get your protein, veggies, dairy and good fats. The meals and snacks are important, too.

I just want you to be sucessful and healthy!

luv2bike - I have a habit of not eating much during my work week. I think a lot of it has to do with working midnights. I can honestly say my tummy isn't growling. I find is really hard to fit in a 3rd meal on those days. Tues, Wed, and Thurs's are my days off and I will eat 3 good meals. I am heading to the farmer's market tomorrow for some fresh veggies to munch on all week. I worked out for the 1st time today since starting on the Beach and I had no problem doing my full work out. I will NOT weigh myself  until the last wednesday of the month. I was weighed and measured at the health club the day before I started on the Beach, I can't wait to see the results. Thanks for checking up on me, I really appreciate it!!

Lordy, I'd starve to death if I only ate that much food! :speechless:

I've never had any of their frozen meals. Are they acceptable for phase one? Does it say on the package anywhere? I just ask because someone posted that it said on their package that it was for phase two and so I wondered if they have them divided into phases.

I'm going to have to try that chicken recipe that DebLynn posted.

Hope you're having a nice day! Do you go to bed as soon as you get off work? I like to stay up until the afternoon, myself.
