Default Bread Machine Recipe

OK, would this work? You could use the SF honey I bet

http://breadnet.net/seven.html

Bill & Bobbie's 7-grain
sesame & sunflower bread

    • 1 1/2 cup warm water
    • 1 tps sea salt
    • 3 tbls honey
    • 6 tbls flaxseed meal or 2 tbls olive oil (extra virgin & cold pressed)
    • 1/2 cup stoneground whole wheat flour
    • 1/2 cup spelt flour 1/2 cup barley flour
    • 1/2 cup millet flour 1/2 cup oat flour 1/2 cup rye flour 1/2 cup soy flour
    • 1/3 + cup of gluten 2 + tps yeast
Place ingredients in bread machine and set for the 2 lb. cycle. 10 minutes before kneading cycle stops for the first rise; add 1/2 cup raw sesame seeds. 5 minutes later add 1/2 cup raw sunflower seed. This makes a very nutty flavored, heavy, nutritious, very high in fiber and wonderful bread. The recipe is flexible.

That sounds really good! I think I would like all those grains and seeds in it.

I just need to get these other flours because I have everything else.

1/2 cup spelt flour
1/2 cup barley flour
1/2 cup millet flour
1/2 cup rye flour

I think I'll go by my local Shop and Save. I bought some of my bread making supplies at the health food store and probably spent too much. Then the last time I was at Shop and Save I noticed that they had quite a lot of stuff I've gotten at the health food store. A lot of it was by Bob's Red Mill. I'm sure that it's cheaper there.

I made some good bread last week from a low carb cookbook by Dana Carpender. I just made a few changes to the original recipe. Here's the recipe I made last time;
????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/kitchen/368-bread-machine-recipe.html

"Whole Wheat" Bread

1 c. warm water
1/2 c. 2% or skim milk
1/2 T. pourable Smart Balance or equivalent
1 egg or Egg Beaters equivalent
1 t. salt
3/4 c. wheat gluten
6 T.flax seed meal
2 T. wheat bran
1/4 c. psyllium husks
1/2 c. oat flour
1/2 c. vanilla-flavored whey protein powder
2 t. yeast

Put the ingredients in your bread machine in the order given, and run the machine. Remove the loaf from the machine and bread case promptly to cool.

I set the machine for a 2 lb. loaf and a dark crust. According to the cookbook it would yield about 10 slices with 13 grams of carbs and 7.5 grams of fiber, for a total of 5.5 grams of usable carbs and 19 grams of protein (more than 2 eggs!) Those numbers will be slightly off because of the minor changes I made in the original recipe.

Its Arrowhead Mills brand and I got it at WholeFoods, you can either bake it in the oven or make it in a bread maker! It was under 3 bucks too! It does call for 3 TBSP of honey at least for the bread maker version but I'm going to have to figure out what that equates to per serving, you could use SF Honey or maybe 1/2 and 1/2 with regular to bring the sugar down if need be.

Most of the breads I by already made have either honey or molasses in them and as long as the sugars come out to be 3 grams or less per serving, you are good to go!!

If the honey is too much, maybe use 2 tablespoons?

Yea, I just need to figure it out. I know not everyone thinks so, but I've always thought a little bit of honey was good for you anyway!

Anyway, I'm outta here for today! I'll let you know how the bread was. Have a great weekend! :Biker:
