| http://www.gnufoods.com/ I think that I'm going to ask the SBD web site if these are okay to eat on this plan. In the meantime, has anyone tried one? Do they taste good? I'll be back in this thread in a couple of days with the answer from the web site. It always takes about a week to get a response from them. | |||||||||||

| LOL! Well, it didn't take a week after all! Someone had already asked about the bars. They asked about the Cinnamon Raisin ones in particular. Their basic response was that this bar would not be the best choice for the South Beach Diet. Because the ingredient listing has fruit juice, which is used as a sweetener, as the number two food listed. The Cinnamon Raisin bar also contains raisins which they recommend using only in late Phase 2 & Phase 3. They end with saying that "it would be a personal choice to use this bar". So, there you have it. I still might give them a try as I advance farther in the phase two and begin to kick my exercise up a notch. I need something that travels easy on long bike rides. I don't think a handful of nuts is going to cut it for me. | |||||||||||

| I wonder if their first response was to hope to discourage you from buying a product that they're not making any money on? Maybe they hoped you'd take their response for gospel and not pursue any futher? :Catfight: | |||||||||||

| I briefly thought the same thing myself! Now I wonder if Whole Foods or Wild Oats carry those bars. Man, I really need to sit down and make a list of stuff to look for when I ever get around to going there again. | |||||||||||

| Actually it showed 32 carbs and 12 fiber which equals 20 net carbs. | |||||||||||

| Ladies, we don't count carbs here. Besides, when I get back to cycling I'll be riding 30 miles at a time and I'm sure I can handle 20 net carbs. In fact, I will probably NEED them. Besides they're the "good" carbs that are allowed on the SBD plan. I love this way of eating! | |||||||||||
