| Although I have not been perfect, I can't seem to complete the Phase 1 secton at all. I have been nauseous, light-headed and dizzy with this diet. I know that my family has a history of low blood sugar and that it seems I can not function with no sugars at all. In addition, I want to go to bed at 7 pm every night I am so exhausted. I don't know if I can follow this diet unless I can have some kind of fruit or juice and can bypass Phase 1. Has anyone else had this experience? I really want to lose weight but wonder if this diet is right for me. Can I lose weight if I just follow the Phase 2 part? | ||||||||||

| The experts should be along shortly... but it sounds like induction flu to me... it should pass in a day or two... | |||||||||||

| Induction Flu is your body withdrawing from sugar and caffeine. It usually takes about 2 days but can take 3-7 days, during this time, the withdrawal can cause headaches, diarrhea, nausea, muscle cramps. Believe me it's only temporary and will go away and then you'll find you have more energy and feel great! :sun: | |||||||||||

| My reaction is pretty severe though so I do think I have a low blood sugar problem. When I was in my teens, if I did not eat or at least have juice, I almost passed out from low blood sugar problems. Can I still lose weight just doing Phase 2? | ||||||||||

| Yes you can but it will be much slower... Phase I you should loose 8-12 pounds, Phase II should be about 1-2 pounds a week. So if you are that sick and absolutely can't get through it, then give Phase II a try... just know that you won't have a huge weightloss, but if you stick it out... you WILL loose weight... how much do you have to loose? | |||||||||||

| Hi Lori! Phase one is mostly for stabilizing your blood sugar and getting rid of cravings. Phase two is where you'll lose most of the weight and it will be true weight and not just water weight. Have you consulted with your doctor? I'm not real familiar with low blood sugar issues. I would say that you can start off in phase two, if you don't have much to lose or if you don't have a lot of cravings. Also, it's not suggested to drink fruit juice on this plan. Instead we are encouraged to eat the whole, real fruit with all it's wonderful fiber in tact. | |||||||||||
