| Ok, i know i keep asking all these questions. A lot of it has to do with that i dont have a SB book. I also want to make sure what is off limits to me that is already in the pantry. I am wondering about these items: Chicken noodle soup by progresso (of course, i wouldnt eat the noodles, but how about the broth, chicken and veggies (minus the carrots) Spam (I am from Hawaii and we were brought up on Spam Musubi (Spam with rice and Nori (seaweed like sushi) Is that OK to eat without the rice of course? How about the Nori (its seaweed) I read the can of the spam and it said no sugar and i think 1g carb. (per serving, total of 6 servings per can) Cambells tomato soup. I know i can have tomato Juice... how about soup? is there even a difference? ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/south-beach-diet-forums-phase-1/1129-these-allowed.html I am really looking for fast and quick things to make for meals. Please let me know on these. Thank you in advance! Last edited by maisweetp; 08-04-2006 at 08:03 PM. Reason: edit | ||||||||||

I'd have to know what else is in the soups. What's the fat content and sugar content? I'd try to look them up at their web sites, but I don't have the time right now. I work midnights and I've really got to start getting ready. Sorry. I'll have to come back to this tomorrow. | |||||||||||

| Thanks so much, Mary, but what I need to see is an actual list of ingrediants. I'm really not even sure those are even on the web sites. I was at the store this morning after work and most of the tomato soups I looked at have high fructose corn syrup in them. That's bad for us and we try to avoid it. If you do a search on the board you can read more about it. I believe that Mindy has posted something about HFCS. You may want to try looking for a tomato soup without high fructose corn syrup. It would be a personal choice to use a canned soup that does not contain South Beach Diet-friendly ingredients. The chicken soup looks fine. I can tell from the info that Mary provided that it doesn't have any sugars or not enough so that they have to list it. | |||||||||||

| Thank you for letting me know! I just want to put aside the items in my pantry that I cannot have.... or just have in a later phase. I didnt get a chance to get that book, but i am going back to target in a little bit with my boyfriend, so i will definately look for it. I was never really aware on how bad things were for me. I just ate what ever looked or smelled good! That probably has a lot to do with why i am so picky on what i eat! If its not easy to make, or looks/smells a little weird, then i dont eat it! I have learned that i NEED to make time to make something healthy. It will help me in the long run. | ||||||||||
