Default Newbie with Questions :)

Hello All,

I am new to South Beach. Well I actually started last Monday but have not been completely clean. (cheated a little this past weekend because I went out of town). BUT back on track since Monday and hoping to keep it that way! Anyways, a couple of questions......

1. Is it okay to eat American cheese? I use the 2%, and normally only have once slice a day. Just thought I would ask since its a processed food.

2. I have about 1/2 cup of Vanilla Soymilk every morning, with my 2 cups of coffee.... is that okay to use? Its not the low fat version, but it only has 3 grams per cup I think.... (dont have it front of me)

3. How much cottage cheese am I allowed each day?

4. When cooking I use olive oil, but probably a little more than 1 tbsp. But i dont think I CONSUME all that I use to cook... usually use it to marinate or sautee... Is this okay? I know its healthy, but dont wanna go overboard...

5. Nuts... I know we can have about 15 per day, just seems like a lot of fat when I add it up with all the olive oil I am allowed.... this is okay for us???

6. Hummus, I read this was allowed on during phase 1... how much should I eat is a day?

7. Last question... My roomate bought me the south beach snack bars (one peanut butter, one chocolate I think)... I know I shouldnt eat them during Phase 1.. but do any of you eat them occasionally on Phase 2? I dont feel like they are a good idea, but she bought me a BIG box!
