    Default Updated List for Ph1?

Is there an updated list with portion sizes for ph1 any where? I am re-starting and lost my book and list. I have heard there have been revisions for 2009. Thank you. Cheryl~

What are the portion size for these meats? There are
other items without portion size listed too. This is confusing
to me. Also, did they take 'laughing cow cheese' off the allowed
list? I don't see it anywhere.

The food lists here are pre-"Supercharged", but really nothing very much changed of any substance with the foods for the Supercharged book, so the ones here are fine too. (What changed with Supercharged was a more explicit focus in incorporating regular exercise and a specific interval based combination of cardio/resistance training to be used in conjunction with the food program.) There are other forums with more updated food lists which you can use if you prefer.

There are no limits on any of the protein sources, although most people tend to limit cheeses and the meal models suggest starting with 3-4 oz portions (visually about the size of a deck of cards) and going from there if you are still hungry. Those items with specific limits are usually identified in the food list and the meal models (a different sticky topic here) provide guidance on suggested quantities where appropriate for meals and snacks throughout the day. You kind of have to use the two in conjunction with each other. For instance if it suggests dairy for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the meal model, it gives the total allowance for the day from the food list for each slot, but you need to determine how you wish to split it up during the day. It might list nuts for each of the morning and afternoon snack, but if you use up your full nut/seed allowance specified in the food list for the morning snack, then you shouldn't have nuts again for the afternoon snack. It really isn't that specific a program. There are food lists with limits and a general menu model/template and you can pretty much mix and match what you like within those general guidelines and limits.

Laughing cow Light is still fine as is any cheese with 6 gms of fat or under. I'm not sure it was ever explicitly listed, but they have been removing most brand names from their food lists and replacing them with more generic statements, so if it was removed, that is probably why.

    Relax!! You'll be fine!!

Redrox, Thank you for your explanation. I know I must sound dense, but does that mean that beans and vegitables have no limit at all? And where do I find these meal models? Cheryl~

Vegetables have no limits at all. The food list only lists minimums, not maximums. Beans (legumes, not green beans), should probably be limited to 2-3 servings a day of 1/3 to 1/2 cup serving each. They are more calorie dense than other vegetables so most people find them to be "diet busters" at higher levels of consumption.

The meal models are sticky topics in each of the relevant forums here so if you look near the top of the list of topics here you will see this title.

Sticky Thread: Meal Model for Phase One (Multi-page thread 1 2)
    luv2bike

You would click on that title to find the meal model for phase one. There is a corresponding sticky topic in the P2 forum here for the meal model for P2.

Wow - thanks for this! I have read the book but then though I'd try Atkins, but did not want to eat the high fats or count carbs, so I'm back here. Planning to start today!!

This list will be MOST helpful!!! (yea, it's in my book, but I can print this one out and put on my fridge!!)
