I am on Phase 2, but I notice that when I include low-fat yogurt in my menu, I seem to lose faster. I truly think it is beneficial to weight loss.

Luv is right that they did amend their stance on dairy since the book came out. It is confusing isn't it? But at least phase 1 only lasts 2 weeks, so you only have 2 weeks of confusion

Default yougart

Im not clear for phase 1 does low fat yougart include nonsugar but flavored yougart. Im thinking the 'diet' yougarts have a sugar free options.

Is just plain low fat yougart the only option

Yes, low fat plain yogurt is the only kind allowed for two weeks of phase one. Some of us use sugar free syrups to flavor the yogurt with.

So- could you use sugar free jelly also? Or, is the s-f jelly a no-no?

Read the first 107 pages of the original (blue) book. It's in the library. It's easy reading and a great way to start. Check the Stickys on this site. There's loads of info there.

YOU CAN DO IT!! IT REALLY WORKS!!

'Hello~~I\'m new to SBD. I\'m in my 3rd day and doing okay. The only problem is I am very picky. There are only a few of the veggies I can eat during Phase 1 and don\'t care much for the quiche or omelete recipes (not into bell peppers, onions, artichokesd, scallios, mushrooms, avocadoes, radishes). Are boiled eggs okay? I don\'t care for seafood (only tuna from the can) and hate vinaigrettes. Is there a good salad dressing that doesn\'t require vinegar???I only like Thousand Island) Will fat-free thousand island work?\r\n\r\nI see some of the suggested recipes in the SBD book are too fancy for me. I tried that laughing cow light cheese (UGH!!!) I\'m more likely to eat cheedar (I did buy the low-fat kind) and american cheese. So I won\'t eat ricotta cheese which is in a lot of the SBD recipes. \r\n\r\nSoooo....Is there any advice for this picky eater? \r\nThanks! '

'Hello All~~I\'m new to the SBD and in my 3rd day. I\'m doing alright so far, but find myself worried I won\'t stick to this first phase. I have bought many of the suggested foods, but I am quite picky as to what I\'ll eat. I won\'t eat many cheeses, certainly the feta or ricotta listed in many of the recipes. I don\'t like many of the veggies I\'m \"allowed\" to eat, such as radishes, avocadoes, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, scallions, artichokes, etc). I hate vinaigrettes--so are there any decent tasting dressings that doesn\'t have vinegar in them? Will fat-free thousand island be okay? That\'s the only dressing i\'ll use.\r\n\r\nOkay, so is there any advice or recipes for this picky eater? Thanks! '

Question Just start SB HELP!

'Hi! I just started southbeach yesterday. I found the book a bit confusing and long winded so I decided to find a website to help me. Here I am. I tried to stick to it yesterday and had the following to eat\r\nBreakfast egg and cheese omelet with soy butter spread in the pan\r\ndecaf coffee with 2% milk and splenda\r\ncottage cheese with splenda and vanilla extract (ugh)\r\nLunch veggie juice (a lot of it)\r\nDinner pastrami and tongue with mayo (no bread)\r\nEgg drop soup\r\n\r\nI also had Benefibre in my juice and a Latte Light at Dunkin Donuts with skim milk and splenda. Was I good or did I screw up?'

Default Weight loss surgery

I had weight loss surgery 3 years ago and have been at a plateau for over 2 years. I rebelled against dieting which is why I had surgery in the first place but now see that my body is rebelling by keeping the last 35 lbs on. I am doing southbeach because I can no longer tolerate carbs, fibrous veggies, pizza or most red meat which makes this program a natural for me. But I want to do it right. So please, friends, help me succeed at this. It seems like the best plan for me but it is soooo complicated.
????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/south-beach-diet-forums-phase-1/163-foods-avoid-phase-one.html
Can I have soy butter, mayonnaise, deli meats such as tongue, latte lights at Dunkin Donuts and low fat milk and yogurt? How much can I eat at each meal? do I have to weigh and measure. I have a lapband so I cant eat too much anyway. I have been eating string cheese and drinking veggie juice with fibre powder in it for snacks. Is that ok?
Hope someone reads this. Thanks for listening and your help.
