Question Cream Cheese Substitute???

Hi Everybody!
I'm new to this forum, but I've done the program before. I need a re-start.
Is there anyone that could please give me an example of a cream cheese substitute!?! I need a lot more variety in my program. I get bored quickly and therefore, lose interest, Thanks!!

Hmm, ricota? lol

I'm just drawing a blank right now. Sorry. I will keep thinking about it though and come back if I get an idea.

Hey Luv2bike, I am referring to the phase 1 food list. Under cheese, one of the selections is Dairy-free, cream cheese substitute. Are they talking about a soy based 'cream cheese'? If so, nevermind, I can't do soy. Thanx for helping!

Oh sorry, yes, it's a soy based item.

I know this is an old thread but if you drain low-fat yogurt through a collandar lined with paper towel or cheese cloth overnight you get a similar product to cream cheese. You can season it and dip veggies in it. :Jump Rope:

I think they took that off the list in the new "Supercharged" book. Real LF cream cheese is still listed under the condiments section though. I think 2 tbsp is a recommended serving/allowance.

If you can have yogurt on South Beach you can certainly have yogurt cheese. It's just thicker because the water is drained away. It's not "cream cheese" lite or otherwise--so yeah if you want proper cream cheese you go buy that. I think yogurt cheese is much more healthy. I'd dole it out in the 2T serving.
