Default Me TOO!

i do the exact same thing... that why I decided not to weigh but 1ce a week and at the same time of day (sometimes if I feel like I've lost alot I may do a second). I NEVER do the same day... when I started a diet before, I tried weighing in the morning, fasting through lunch (thinking I'd weigh less) and NOPE!!! even a gained then. Dont let it bother you. pick a day and a time (morn usually the best) and stick to it as closely as possible. I don't know why it happens, but know that you arent alone in this one

Default Omg!!!

Frenchie's a scale watcher!!!!!

SHAME ON YOU!!!!

I try to wait till the end of the week (Friday's are good) to weigh myself...then the I see a bigger number for the week's total, which pushes my motivation for the weekend...this helps with the willpower, so I don't blow it with crap food that always seems to be surrounding me on the weekends...cookouts, picinics, campfires, reunions, weddings, 'kegers' (lol) ...the 'food pushers' are absolutley horrible this year....lol

If you really want to stress out and drive yourself out of your mind....hehe...weigh yourself, drink a bunch of water and weigh yourself again....lol..........then go pee and weigh again....then eat and weigh again........mmmooooahahaha.....that's my evil laugh...LMAO

please don't do this to yourself my friend...it dampens the spirits....lol

Maybe this article will help? Why The Scale Lies Or this one? Scrap the Scale

Your "weight" is a snapshot in time and a highly imperfect one at that! It measures everything, not just fat, so if it goes up slightly, or down slightly, it likely has absolutely nothing to do with fat loss or gain. It's just normal body workings. The only way it makes any sense at all is to keep a series of data points over time and look at longer term trends. And longer term is weeks and months not hours and days!

On a side note though, I once read Thin for Life: 10 Keys to Success from People Who Have Lost Weight and Kept It Off by Ann Fletcher (RD) at my SIL's house when I was bored and found it on her bookshelf and one of the 10 keys was regular weighing. (may have even been daily weighing?) Basically she looked at 150 people who were successful at both losing weight and maintaining their loss over time to see if she could identify any patterns or commonalities among them and came up with her "10 Keys". It seems to be an important tool esp. for maintenance in that those who are successful tend to monitor and take action quickly with adjusting either food, exercise or both when the numbers start to go in the wrong direction for any length of time as a discernable pattern. So I do think there can be value in regular weighing. Just not if you are going to let it affect your emotions or whether you tie having a "good" day or a "bad" day to a number on an inanimate object! If you are alive and breathing it's always a "good day"!!

Nicely put! Measuring in weeks and months will give you a great idea of how much your efforts pay off. Stay off that scale! I will ruin your motivation!

Default The scale has gone bye bye

My darling bf has hid the dam thing so now I dont know where it is...I dont want to know where it is till Sunday morns....Yep I was getting crazy with it.... Although It did give me quite the boost in the am.... Honstley folks when I got on the scale first thing in the am It really made my day to see it go down down down,,,, just made me want to eat less walk some, and drink tons of water.....Hell, I even passed on going away cake today.... I went and picked out a cake for a guy that was leaving today....and didnt even look at it when it came time to eat it...I didnt want my scale sky rocketing ... So I sat there and ate my SF JELLO.....just to get home and be three pounds more...That was it for me...BYE BYE SCALE......for years I didnt weigh myself and now i'm a scale junkie????? Get the straight jacket....

Tiny .......... your too funny...LMAO....

REDROX, I can see where the scale would be a help to weigh yourself all the time to maintain, I understand that fully.. when I weighed in first thing in the morn I was very happy...then once at night i jump on the scale and my thoughts were : Oh dear better not eat that nut or jello, just drink more water... So I do get it... I will wait till I hit goal and dont mind floping around with two or three pounds...
