Cool questions for you guys

So I started the SBD right before my birthday, boo to me, ha ha. Well my fiance wants to take me out, can't really think of a place to go, than he suggested sushi. I was thinking I could have sashimi (not nigiri sushi, no rice). Miso soup and some edamame. I should be in phase two by then, would it be okay to have a little sake?!?! Its my birthday and I'm not much of a big drinker, but its my birthday. ha.

Also I was reading the forums and found the subject of staying on Phase 1 for longer than two weeks. I feel amazing, still haven't lost a pound but the bottom part of my stomach (fupa if you know what I'm talking about) is totally disappearing, and I like that. I have been considering staying on Phase 1 a little longer, I feel the first week I didn't have enough veggies or beans, and didn't eat enough. Once I started adding in more food, and eating even though I wasn't hungry, is when I started to see the results (the past few days). I do have over 100 lbs I'd like/need to loose. Have any of you tried this, is it safe?!?! Could I do phase two but seriously limit myself on the fruits and whole grains, and after a while, start adding them in??

Also I feel great still, I made nachos for my fiance last night, and had no desire to eat them, usually i'd pick at em while i was cooking, but not this time, it really is amazing how once you rid it out of your system your body has no desire for it.

I'm glad I found this place, you guys are great, I am learning so much.

I'd enjoy some sake on your birthday if you like! Wine is allowed on P2, but not sure how sake compares to grape based wines. It's basically all empty calories, so just don't go overboard and enjoy your day.

And I know the temptation to stay in P1 is strong. "Luke, turn away from the dark side!" the goal of P1 isn't weight loss. it's to normalize blood sugars and reduce the food based cravings you get from blood sugar swings and the insulin response cycle. The real plan and real "magic" happens in P2. It's where you learn how to eat healthily for the rest of your life. With a lot to lose, Dr. A says you can extend P1 a bit more, maybe another week or so. But there's nothing to be gained by staying in it for an extended period of time. Your just messing with your health, your metabolism and setting yourself up for reinforcing a "dieting" mentality. The early part of P2 isn't much different than P1 anyway. You'll never find out what the "right" level of fruits and grains is for you if you don't go through the process and figure it out along the way. That's really what P2 is all about.

Default Okay Okay Okay

Well I'm nearing the end of phase 1, my pants are falling off, I've felt the best I've felt SINCE I WAS A KID. I haven't cheated, or even wanted to. I've lost 2 lbs. I'm not to disappointed in that because I think 1)either my scale is broken, or 2)maybe I'm losing weight at a rate that is good.

I am going back to the gym today! ugh! I'm excited I'm gonna knock this thing out, I'm going to do it.


Phase two I'll see you on wednesday!

Your working out regularly?.....maybe your building muscle girl...did you take measurements before you started? Your doing it girl, keep the faith...2 pounds is 2 pounds my friend!!!....start adding them up!
