Default Not so great day...

Well, today is Week 2, Day 1 on Phase 1. I'm doing well on the diet and I lost 4.5 pounds this past week. I'm very happy about that.

I don't know what happened this afternoon. This morning I was fine. I started a blog on this site and I wrote on that. But this afternoon I started feeling kind of sad that I don't get to eat all those fun foods I was eating. I love to bake. So I was eating a lot of baked goods (which got me on South Beach in the first place) and I was part of this fun baking club. I'm just kind of missing those cookies today.

I know I'm being a baby. But sometimes what makes me cheat on a diet is just sitting around thinking about what I could possibly cheat on. I'm really really trying not to do that.

Could use some encouragement.

Thanks.

Michele

Smile Hello

First of all, that's awesome that you lost 4.5 lbs already! Congratulations! I just started Phase II a few days and I think I can relate somewhat to what you're feeling. I have a couple of times missed my eating habits and it makes me feel like a baby also. But then I step on the scale and see I've lost another pound or that my clothes look better and I kind of forget about it or just have a sugar -free fudgesicle and that kind of satisifies me! You are grieving a "loss" and that can be difficult but just try and focus on the positive things in this diet. Maybe you can find some recipes that are healthier so that you can still bake (I know I saw a recipe in my book for peanut butter and jelly cookies that didn't sound too bad) and have an occasional cookie.

Anyway, you are trying not to cheat by posting and that's a positive thing so you can feel good about that. And, I don't know about you, but I usually find that "blue" kind of feeling passes if I try and take my mind off of it. I just know I like feeling better about myself and that's a good motivator for me.

Good luck and hang in there.

Challenge yourself to make some of your favorite baking recipes SBD friendly. That should help. You hang in there you are doing fine. Always check in here for tips and motivation.

once you reach phase 2, there are a few more 'baking' items you could introduce again...keep the faith, you'll be there in no time...what day do you move to phase 2?...maybe do some light reading about what your going to make, plan a trip to the store & get some of the items you'll need...stay positive my friend...look at all the new things you'll be able to try in phase 2....you loved to bake, why not convert that love of baking into a love of simply healthy cooking?...bakers make the best chef's ya know...you'll be making gourmet meals in no time my friend...what time will it be ready?...lol...I'll be over...
