Default R.I.P. Carbs.... :( </3

GAH.
This is horrible, day two and I'm craving carbs sooo bad. I'm lucky I have lots of willpower and I got a very determined attitude.
I can't wait for phase two to start!! I'm having oatmeal my first day for breakfast...
Then a piece of toast the next day for breakfast.
I'm going to do it properly, gradually go to 2-3 servings, but I am excited. I looooove oatmeal...and FRUITS! :O
Pineapppple.
Anyone else miss their carbs?
What are you going to have when Phase 2 starts?

Phase 2 started for me today. My first carb I'm adding back is carrots! Can you believe that? I don't want any cravings to start, so I'm going to go really slowly. I'm pretty sure oatmeal would not have been a good choice for me today. (Or tomorrow.) Maybe next week. And also, the suggestion is to have your carb at lunch or dinner rather than breakfast... Not to burst your bubble or anything, but if you want this to work over the long haul...

In case you're wondering, I did have to really stay strong in the first few days. Days three and four were my absolute hardest. After that it's been fine. It's like you get a shot in the arm to avoid the stuff that sets up the cravings. So, maybe by the time you get to Phase 2, you too will not want to have oatmeal first thing.

Good luck, whatever you decide!

Hi miranda. I think when I get to phase two I will have a nice crisp apple. One of my favorite things though when I'm in phase two is steel cut oats with frozen blueberries and mixed with non fat yogurt. Yumm... I can't wait for phase 2 just 10 more days to go.

If you follow the meal models and maximize the allowed dairy, beans/legumes and vegetables in P1, you can easily get into the 80-100 gm per day range of carbohydrates. So yes the body and particularly the brain do need adequate carb intake and the food list and meal model allow for this if you use what's available to you. Actual implementation is often different from what is intended though as most seem to think this is a very low carb plan when it was never really designed to be one.

This may sound funny but I can not WAIT to be able to drink fresh squeezed grapefruit juice again! I attribute that to not being sick so far this season. I usually get at least one cold per month and this winter....nothing but I've been juicing every morning until starting P1. I miss it sooooooooo!

I really really really want a honey crisp apple and I cant wait to sink my teeth into it even before the carbs. I just restarted the SBD and if you could told me before that Id want an apple before some .. say.. pasta.. I would have laughed. Hope your oatmeal was delish =)

Wow, we got some heavy duty cravings going on here guys! Hopefully it's just because we're early in the game. REMEMBER phase one is just as much about decreasing cravings as losing weight.

I know I'm planning on adding a small apple with peanut butter (to decrease the glycemic impact) for the entire first week of phase two. My transition into phase two will be focused on keeping cravings at bay by moving very very slowly.

Good Lucks Guys...I know we can do it!

I'm pretty sure an apple chopped up in my salad at lunch was the first thing I added back in when I hit Phase 2. Have your newly-introduced carbs with lunch or dinner for best results...

The thing I longed for most when I transitioned to phase two was an apple with natural peanut butter. I still love having this as a snack. Cocoamelody, you hit the nail on the head, there is nothing like a Honey Crisp Apple.
