| Can I have chicken thighs?...I am on quite a food budget and breast are just to expensive....also , I did not see beans allowed in the book on phase one. Did I miss something?:Singing: | ||||||||||

| It's a saturated fat issue. Always remember this program was designed to improve your heart health first and foremost and the weight loss component is more of a side effect. Saturated fat consumption has a strong correlation to increased LDL (Bad) cholesterol and heart disease. The extra fat in dark meat also has more calories as well, so it does affect weight loss from that perspective as well, as fats are the most calorie dense macronutrient at 9 cals/gm. vs. 4 cals/gm for proteins and carbohydrates. | |||||||||||
