| ok this may seem like an odd question but are pickles allowed in phase 1? They technically are cucumbers. I can't seem to find anything in the book on them? If they are allowed wouldn't you think that would be something to mention? They are full of flavor and can instantly turn a wrap into a tasty wrap LOL. Like most things it is how they are processed so I am unsure on if they are allowed or not. | |||||||||||

| Not only are they allowed, but I think they are a great addition (as long as they don't contain sugar or other non-beachy ingredients). The vinegar in the pickles tends to slow the digestion of food, thus helping to prevent high blood sugar levels. One of my favorite snacks since phase one has been cucumbers and onions soaked in vinegar and Splenda. | ||||||||||

| yep dill pickles are fine. just the sweet or sweetened ones you need to watch out for. Mt. Olive is a brand that makes SF sweetened pickles with splenda I think if you really need the sweet ones though! | |||||||||||

| Yup! Pickles are good. Mount Olive SF pickles work for me, too. FWI: Olives, however, are not pickles, as they are higher in fat content. Those are allowed, but need to be counted as fat... | |||||||||||

| Isn't that the truth! I have been burned more than once by something that I assumed was okay. | ||||||||||
