Default And in this corner...

Well - it HAS begun. Sitting on my kitchen island is a stack of boxes, bags, cans, etc. that just don't fit into South Beach. The one thing I have noticed is that over the last year I've made a lot of grocery shopping decisions that were actually pretty good. (Note: Need to add more fresh veggies!!)

So if I've had the "good stuff" in my kitchen all along I can only conclude that it is my cravings that got the best of me. And low and behold, the bank statement tells all. Wow, I eat out WAY to much.

So now I know my weakness, all I have to do is take the permanent steps to conquer them. I'm thinking the more I can prep and make ahead the better off I will be.

Grocery store - here I come

i hear you!! If it isn't in the house, even if I'm craving it, I can't eat it!!

Proper shopping/stocking is key. Like a little extra part time job--need to buy veggies and prep them.

I think I'll call it "condiment cleansing"...

ketchup - gone
bbq sauces - bye bye
teriyaki - adios

I found more types of salad dressing then you find in the store, 1/2 used bottles long forgotten and shoved to the back of the fridge. Last time I checked bottled ranch was NOT supposed to be that color!

toss! toss! toss!!!!!!

Freezer got the same treatment. Very little thrown out though in that I walked away from prepared/boxed freezer items a long time ago. If I can't make it from scratch, I don't know whats in it so I don't want to eat it.
Did manage to find a chicken I knew I had (yes a WHOLE bird) buried in the bottom of my chest freezer. How sad!!!

Anyway, its all been shoved in bags and sits upon the street awaiting pickup (which means I won't go digging for that one last spoonful of PhishFood).

Yeah meeeee.... step in the right direction
