| That is a good standard visualization link that I've seen the amounts like that listed at other sites without the little pictures! Just be aware that a serving size for all grains is really a 1/2 cup per the FDA food pyramids and SB recommendations. It's really 1 ounce or 30 grams uncooked if you want to be super technical! Another helpful visualization is to think of half your standard dinner plate being vegetables and 1/4 protein and 1/4 (or less) starches or grains as rough proportions. | |||||||||||

| Last nights dinner was a huge lesson in what a real plate should look like. It was half fish, 1/4 steamed snow peas, 1/4 wilted cabbage. It was a tasty tasty dinner and I didnt miss my usual half plate of pasta or rice. Feels like each day I eat this way it gets easier. Not saying there wont be setbacks but right now Im feeling good. | ||||||||||

| Back on Phase 1 because I totally fell off! But that's okay. Just remaining positive. I'm back on for 2 weeks then moving on to a more successful Phase 2. I broke my nose a couple months and as I was healing definitely turned to food as my schedule got all out of whack. I think by posting on the boards on a regular basis, I know I will get the support that I need. Today has been a good day so I feel great. So happy to be back here. - Joy | ||||||||||

| Day 2 and I am sticking to the rules. No cheating - and making myself eat a post dinner snack even when I am not hungry. I want to be successful on SBD like never before. So reaching out for some support and making sure to visit the boards every day. I know it sounds crazy but just waking up this morning after my first day on Phase 1 made me feel so much better than I have in the past month. I am confident I can do this successfully.
