| I read the boards and see other's success and know it can be done. But I find myself tonight in one of those "why bother" frame of minds. No, I haven't strayed from the diet and splurged, but with such a huge amount of weight to lose, I figure - why bother? Yes, I know I will feel better - I already do just from eating the south beach way Yes, I know I will look better - I already am, just looking at my shadow on the way I see an hourglass figure and not an apple or a pear ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/south-beach-diet-forums-phase-1/2372-when-seems-impossible.html Yes, I know I should... Yes, I know I could.. But yet I feel - why bother? Update : Sorry for my rantings last night. I get these on occasion when the words of my husband are not what I am looking for. He has the same attitude (despite the fact of doing SB with me he just "doesn't" get how important it is for me). His lack of motivation and not really understanding rubs me the wrong way sometimes. | Hey LuvBug! I totally get it. It seems like I always venture to lose these same freaking 15 lbs unsucessfully. I always fall out of it or talk myself out of doing it. ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/showthread.php?t=2372 My hubby was supposed to be doing this with me. He was successful all week and the weekend hit. The weekends have always been my weak points in the past. We went grocery shopping and got stuff for the kids (I run an in home daycare) and for us. He totally lost it this weekend, but is back on today. I, on the otherhand stuck it out for once. I found some new recipes and used them. I have never seen this much determination out of me. I want this weight gone. But that is how I feel today. Tomorrow, I may be feeling a little in the dumps and wonder why I am doing this and want to quit!! We are women w/hormones that are crazy!! We are emotional and this journey is a very emotional one...it has ups and downs out the wazoo.... You have done a spectacular job so far and I don't know you but am proud since I know what this ride is like! Be proud of your success and take it one day at a time!! Good Luck!! Angie | ||||||||||

| I read this a lot. Written by Marianne Williamson based on her study of the book, A Course in Miracles. "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/showthread.php?t=2372 people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." Our Deepest Fear by Marianne Williamson Our playing small does not serve ourselves or those around us. When we shine, others will have the courage to shine as well. In a small and sometimes profound way we make the world a slightly better place when we allow ourselves to become better people. I think living a healthy lifestyle is one aspect of that. | |||||||||||

| Red - talk about an affirmation that I need to add to my wall. I have a wall I am starting to collect and post affirmations, quotes, and even track my successes, both the small and the large ones. I find that if I keep the positive staring me in the face it is but a glance to get me back on track when I'm feeling down. This is being added!!! Thank you! | |||||||||||

| The first time I heard it was in one of my yoga classes and it just really spoke to me. Shortly thereafter it was used in the movie "Akeelah and the Bee" when Akeelah begins to doubt her ability to do what is necessary to compete in the annual national spelling bee (a great movie by the way!), and the origin of A Course in Miracles, if you choose to believe how it came into being, is the voice of Jesus as scribed by Helen Shucman. I also used it as part of my parent's blessing for my younger daughter's Bat Mitzvah as she became a young adult in the Jewish tradition. I figure it it speaks clearly through all of those various tradtions and mediums, there must be something pretty universal about it!! ????: South Beach Diet Forums http://www.southbeachdietbulletinboard.com/showthread.php?t=2372 I'm also going to use it as one of several readings in my very first yoga class as a teacher this Thursday! | |||||||||||
